That dip stick is for the gear box to let you know how much gear oil is in the gear box. This is not for the automatic trany fluid if it is an automatic. The standard trany will have the same stick just to let you know if there is enough gear lube.

Testimonial: "I deeply appreciate it... Its very low around the e on the dip stick... Needed to know b4 i mess something up.. Thank You"

Want to learn how to check transmission fluid on my ford mustang 1994

At the rear of the engine locate the dip stick going into the transmission case, it look like an oil dip stick. Pull it out and wipe clean. Re-insert pull out and read the fluid level at the bottom of the dip stick. Do this with engine off and on a level surface.

Start engine, let it get to operating temp. in park pull dip stick out wipe clean, stick in back in, pull it out and check level on dip stick, do not over fill, it will be the dip stick closes to the back of the engine and fire wall.

There is a popping sound coming from the front end of my car when I accelerate but only when my car is moving, not when it is parked. Any ideas?

Sounds like your half shafts are going bad. Does it make this noise when turning left or right? If it does your half shafts have gone bad.

Car drives sluggish in drive.

There are quite a few things that will cause the car to drive "sluggish," so I won't try to tell you all of them without a more specific indication of the problem (does sluggish refer to way the engine runs or the way the car handles, for example), but:
Looking at the car from the front, the dip stick for the transaxle is down very low at the left hand side of the engine, close to being under the battery. It is normally yellow. Follow the large water hose that runs down next to your battery. The yellow dip stick handle is right along side of that hose (to the right of it) down low. It will either pull out or unscrew.
Ordinarily, if the transmission has a problem, your D4 light will start flashing. There is a way to read the codes, given the number of flashes and whether they are long or short, but it's involved. If your D4 starts flashing (beyond just coming on when you put it in gear) you probably should have it checked.
Usually, the way an engine runs has more to do with fuel/air mix or ignition than it does with the transmission. Have you, for example, changed your air filter recently? Your plugs? But there are many other things, as I said.
Hope this helps.

the dipstick and tube go to the sump it is at the very bottom of the engine block should be a large smooth pan looking thing that covers the bottom of the engine, dont know where you can purchase these things but go to a place that sells car parts and put an order in for the parts with your engine make and model number

Location of auto trans dip stick on 91 Ford Tempo 4 cyl.

It's right next to the air filter and behind the radiator fan and to the right of the oil dipstick. The transmissions is black and the oils is yellow. If it's a manual, there's no dipstick there. If not check close to the forewall towards the back of the engine.
