When you put the car in drive, the car drives sluggish, and I don't know where the transmission fluid dip stick is to check the fluid levels.could it be anything else that would cause the car to run so sluggish?
There are quite a few things that will cause the car to drive "sluggish," so I won't try to tell you all of them without a more specific indication of the problem (does sluggish refer to way the engine runs or the way the car handles, for example), but:
Looking at the car from the front, the dip stick for the transaxle is down very low at the left hand side of the engine, close to being under the battery. It is normally yellow. Follow the large water hose that runs down next to your battery. The yellow dip stick handle is right along side of that hose (to the right of it) down low. It will either pull out or unscrew.
Ordinarily, if the transmission has a problem, your D4 light will start flashing. There is a way to read the codes, given the number of flashes and whether they are long or short, but it's involved. If your D4 starts flashing (beyond just coming on when you put it in gear) you probably should have it checked.
Usually, the way an engine runs has more to do with fuel/air mix or ignition than it does with the transmission. Have you, for example, changed your air filter recently? Your plugs? But there are many other things, as I said.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: transmission sluggish, fluid level good,
Transmissions age just like people. New fluid and filter would be a good idea. Its 13 years old , most of these have already had to be rebuilt.
