My 1991 Honda Accord LX won't start, it is getting not getting any fuel. What is the problem?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Turn the key to the on position (do not turn the car over) and listen for a whirring sound at the rear of the car (someone listening at the filler port might help). If there is a whirring sound for a few seconds, that would indicate that your fuel pump is at least running. If there is no sound, then it isn't running. That would mean that it has failed, OR that you main relay (which controls the electrical flow to your electric fuel pump) is bad.

What dose main pickup sensor do on a 1991 honda accord lx

if you feel savvy enough, check to see if it produces spark and also check if the fuel pump is working. If no spark usually a problem in the distributor. if no fuel coming out of the fuel line, maybe bad fuel pump. need to check if pump is not working.

92' honda accord lx when hot does not want to start

You need to repair or replace your car's main power relay. It is a known fault on those early 90's Accords. When it gets hot, it fails and won't supply power to the fuel pump or distributor. Have it replaced.

Intermittantly the car won't start

Main Fuel injector relay is probably the culprit. Buy a second hand one for about 50 bucks and replace it yourself within 30 minutes.
