We need to get our 1995 mustang inspected and the horn does not work. We were told that everything was hooked up right but the horn itself does not work. Can you find these at most auto parts places and how do you replace it, where is it?

To install a horn, Buy a horn button from any auto parts store. mount it under dash in a good place to use it. run a wire from horn connection to proper post on switch, run the other wire to a good power source, battery or fuse box. its the same principle as hooking up a light switch in a house. as long as it cuts the power to horn. it will work. There should already be a ground wire on horn itself. Good-Day!
The clicking you hear is the horn relay working.
I would locate the horn and insure the wiring is intact and the horn has a good solid ground.
Then while someone is pressing the horn button measure the voltage at the wire that attaches to the horn to ground. If you get 12v or more the horn is bad. If you don't get any voltage replace the relay
INSIDE THE WHEEL WELL HOUSINGS BETWEEN FENDER AND LINER, IT CAN BE LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE, U MUST GET UNDER THE CAR TO SEE THEM, U WILL NEED A FLASH LIGHT OT DROP LIGHT THEY ARE UP IN THERE.
Locate the horn under the hood, probably near the front of the vehicle near the headlights. Tap with a hammer or wratchet. If this does not work, disconnect the wire that is attached to the horn itself and then replace the horn before your next State inspection.
On your truck you should have a high note and low note horn. One is on the left of the radiator support at the bottom, the other on the right of the radiator support at the bottom.
You can do it. Brett Please rate me if this helps!
