What size bulb does it take to replace the one under the shift lever of a 2001 Hyundai Elantra????

My research reveals there is NO solenoid called the 'shift solenoid'

1. LR (Low/Reverse)
2. DOC
3. OD (Over Drive)
4. 2nd
5. UD (Under Drive)

All are located inside the transaxel (inside) attached to the valved body

Shift senor upper just replaced mine $65.

Have you had the transmission fluid replaced at around 46,000 miles.....as this would be the first thing that mnight be the fault ???

yes , you need to remove the headlight cover from the back after u move the bulb conector then there is a holder for the bulb u need to push down then move.

Do you own a DMM - digital multi-meter ? Do you know what a wiring diagram is an how to read one ? Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. Year , make , model an engine size. Under system click on lighting, then under subsystem click on courtesy lamps. Click the search button then the blue link . First diagram , look at the right , you will see trunk room lamp .At the top you'll see the fuse the supply's power to the lamp . Check for B+ voltage going in an out , check the switch .
