2001 Hyundai Elantra Questions & Answers
The rear brake lights on my 2001 Hyundai Elantra won't turn off
There's a small rubber pad which sits on the brake pedal arm, and holds the brake light switch OFF when the pedal is released. When this rubber pad falls off, the brake light switch is on all the time, not just when the pedal is pressed down. Find the rubber pad, and glue it back on, or make a replacement from cardboard, duct tape, whatever.
2001 hyundai elantra goes in2 reverse but won't go backwards all other gears r perfect
Most automatic transmissions have a separate belt for reverse and all forward gears, The reverse belt is commonly lighter duty that the forward belt (some Chryslers were affected so much it was advised to not shift into reverse until the engine had warmed up and the automatic choke idled down) Thus your car would be in "reverse" but with no motion getting to the gears.
What is the cylinder compression psi fpr the 2.0 liter engine
usual on 4 cylinder around 175psi.225psi is very high for your car,150psi seems ok,you may have two problems.A leaking head gasket and high compression due to carbon build up on the pistons.Check your Hyundai Dealer to see is this problem is covered under their 100,000 mile warranty,it should be.IF not then
the head needs to come off and had gasket replaced along with clean the top of pistons since they are right there, sounds like and easy fix.also check condition of radiator, and I would rec. replacing thermostat since some Hyundai models had problems with their thermostats
I cannot unlock my 2001 hyundia elantra with the key or key fob
Hyundais have the tendancy to blow the ignition switch, yours was probabbly replaced, and by doing so you will need the Original key the car came with, not the new one included in the kit for the ignition switch.. also have you checked the little battery for the keyfob??? it probabbly went dry.
best regards!

Need help with a 2004 hyundai tibion 2.0 fault code po133
Vacuum leak is most likely candidate, but can also be a fuel pressure or injector problem. To test the sensor, the computer purposely commands a quick rich lean cycle to see how fast the sensors react. If injectors are dirty, pressure is off or there's a vacuum leak, it can screw up the response time.
2001 elantra lack of power
Confirm ur fuel pump is working. Ensure ur pickup tube is not blocked. Then ensure u did not leave a rag or parts in the manifold tubes. Not laughing it happens. Is the distributor in the right spot. Etc etc. Did u rehook the alt up if removed . Is tje battery fully charged. And lastly is the fuel flowing and freash. Then recheck your work did u replace all parts right. Any air in the head gasket will make the fuel /air mixture off.
Good luck
