2007 cadillac cts 3.6 motor...engine stalls. runs slightly rough during start up and then will die very occasionally taking off, hesitates and "jumps" between 40 to 50 mph. Does not write to code so therefore dealer nor Cadillac have a clue how to fix.
CTS are very sensitive to problems with the hose between the air filter box and the intake. If it is not on good or leaks, it will cause the car to run rough, or die immediately after starting.

Go to an auto parts store, they will scan your OBD II memory for the check engine light code. And from ther they should tell you why it`s on, and what needs to be fixed and/or replaced.
Good chance that the fuel filter may have go to the end of it's life and will need to be replaced. Start with that first if there is no check engine light on before the engine stalls out or while it's running.

Did you also check the air filter? The Cadillac CTS is very finicky about the differential pressure across the air filter. Checking the air filter often causes the hose between the air filter box and the intake to come loose or start to leak. This will cause the car to run rough or die immediately after starting.
Yes...this is a sensor problem and will get worse before it gets better. The crankshaft position sensor on the CTS is famous for this. It's located in the engine block under and slightly ahead of the oil filter and is a bugger to get to. Good luck...i hope this helps.
