There are many reasons for this i reccomend having it put on a computer at a trustworthy shop or the dealer
Go by auto zone or an equivalent auto parts dealer, most will check your vehicles on board diagnostics (obd2) for trouble codes for free. They can reset your codes however, but if you have an actual fault code instead of an interval service check light then you would need to determine the fault of the code to proceed with diagnosis or repairs. You would know if it is an actual fault if after they reset the code in a couple of weeks or a couple hundred miles either or the check/service engine light comes back on. I can advise you further if you get an actual code off the scanner.
