I think thats normal, if you turn off the engine, you should be able to open /close the door locks.

I have a 98 Chevy Malibu Ls and the ignition won't

Inspect the old ignition cycle which is out.Is there any problem noticed of Ignition cylinder getting worn out.
Because when issue of ignition not turning off,its faulty ignition lock cylinder or faulty ignition switch.I suggest re-inspect the new ignition cylinder.

The radio quit working and I can't find a fuse to replace if this is what I need to do. Can you help me

My malibu maxx ('04) has done this to me 5 or 6 times, wait until the power steering goes out. But there is nothing you can do. One of the times it did this to me i took the whole dash apart and check all cables were tight (they were) and still didn't work. I've even disconnected the batter over night with no avail. So my best suggestion is keep driving it and anywhere from 1 to 5 days it will come back on. I have been told that if you have a lot of stuff on the key chain, it will interrupt the signal the car needs from the key. That thick black part of the key has a transmitter in it. But this is supposed to prevent you from starting it at all. So I don't think they are related.

04 Malibu power locks up and down all the time, even w/key off. I've been told that keyless entry modulator is bad but somebody also told me that BCM is part of the keyless entry. Someone help me please.

The remote control door lock reciever controls the door locks, and tire pressure monitor. If your TPM and remote work normaly then it will not be the RCDLR. The body mudule is involved but I don't see this problem being related to it. About a week ago I had a car like yours with a small short in a door causing this exact issue. You need to get it scaned for body codes to give you a better idea where to go. Let me know if you need moer help. I have looked on the GM service web site and there are no known issues related to this. Good Luck.

Remote starter / keyless entry does not work

Start the car with the key, wait 15 seconds, then press startbutton on the remote while the car is already running, you may need to do this 2 times inorder to reprogram the remote

2005 Chevy Malibu Maxx - Electrical Problems?

Hello I am not sure if this is the exact fix but I was having the same problem and I took my Malibu in to be checked and it appears to be a problem inside the steering column. When I turn the steering wheel it makes the door locks go crazy!! So although this is not a fix it may be a place to look for a frayed wire or a short in the wires. I am taking my Malibu in on Monday to be checked. Good luck to all having the same problem.
