Hi,

The 'S' light is also your diagnostic indicator....so, the answer lies in the 'sequence' which the S light blinks.

Codes:

Long blinks: 1st digit
short blinks: 2nd digit

e.g.1 - if there are 6 short blinks (followed by long pause) then repeats 6 blinks again, the code = 6.

e.g.2 - if there is 1 long blink, then 4 short blinks (followed by long pause) then repeats again, the code = 14.

The ECU may show more more than one code.

Once you determine the correct code/s, post them here so someone can assist you further.

Cheers,

Toyota Prius hazard lights blinking constantly

i have a 2010 Prius that we bought new. It has had no problems, but I can tell you from my study of the Prius that pretty much nothing is simple. The easiest way to reset stuff is to disconnect the a start battery connection. You can look on the net how to start a Prius with jumper cables to the engine compartment, and disconnect the start battery there. If you are not comfortable with that, the start battery is in the rear near the spare tire. Disconnect the negative cable only, wait 15 minutes and reconnect. You may have to reprogram your radio push buttons, but so what. If this doesn't work, take it to a shop (maybe toyota dealership) that can read and interpret the trouble codes for a 2010 Prius. Enjoy the car, we do.

I have a 1992 Buick LaSabre, The check engine lite goes on and off. My car stalled on me on the way home from work. After a couple tries it started but the (INFL. REST.) lite came on. What could be the...

The INFL. REST. Light means Inflatable Restraint light. The light should blink five to seven times when you first start the car and then should shut off. If the light does not shut off, get your ride checked for error code.

P0301 blinking check engine light

It could be a bad spark plug , spark plug wire or if your car has a coil pack then the number one coil could be going bad.

I stepped on the gas the car took off then immediatley slowed in power. The engine light came on and started blinking. I could drive the car, but only at slow speed. 2007 Mercury Milan V6. Any ideas

when the check engine light blinks this is a sign of misfires but your going to need a scanner to determine which cylinders misfired and clear fault memory i would then recommend swapping coils and plugs from cylinders that misfired with ones that didnt and see if misfires migrate to determine bad coils or plugs

Our 1996 cadillac deville started not wantin to shift out of 2nd gear .we changed the fluid an filter but that didnt help .was told it might be the speed sensor (i assume its in the transmission) was...

On drivers side of the transmission (maybe not visible) speed is transmission speed not drive speed. Before spending a lot of money I would remove the NSS (neutral safety switch, probably visible) and clean it very well, contacts and all and use some solvent on the parts that can tolerate it. Could also be the TPS (which is also a transmission sensor). Take it to auto zone or somewhere and have a computer diagnosis for free. Remember though. Computer codes are only a starting point. An indication, not necessarily a solution. Also, if I'm not mistaken the 96 has a built in diagnostic. I think you hold down the "OFF" and "WARMER" buttons (may have to continue to hold, not sure), and turn the key to the on position without starting the car (or the opposite (turn key on first), and it will blink codes (EX: blink, blink.....blink,blink,blink, would be 23. They typically will end with 12...blink...blink,blink, and may even start with that code), to you with the SES light (service engine soon), or maybe display numbers. Not sure as I've never done it on that model but have a friend that had one. Might be worth a try. If you have the owners manual it should tell you how and also how to read the codes.
hope this helps.

Since the battery light was 'on', it seems the vehicle's charging system has failed.
Get the charging rate, and probabley the alternator will need overhauling.

Reset service indicator light

On a 2008, thurn the key to the ACC position. Hold down the reset button for about 10sec on the dash until the whole display starts flashing.
When the whole display is flashing, hold down the reset button again for about 10sec. the OIL LIFE will go to 100%.
