Based on our research the RAV4s with wet floors are usually, but not always, clogged sunroof drains or drain outlets. Other RAV4 owners found that the body trim surrounding their windshield or even the fender panel had degraded and failed, allowing water to seep in during heavy rain.

its under the radio on the floor. look on the floor right next to the gas pedal. you will see a black side cover. remove the cover and you will see the computer. there is a cover on the passenger side also. right under the glove box next to your left foot if you were sitting in pass. side seat.
your going to have to get the car in the air . there should be a small rubber tube passenger side right about where your feet would rest.somtimes you can use a coat hanger to clear the tube
unfortunately in your mode maxima nissan had quite a few issues because of beeing the first model of A32 body style from the older J30 model maxima. from what i have seen in the past it could be anything from bad harness, to flodded ECM/computer because of water entering into vehicle because of faulty cowling on top of windshield, to bad ground between trans and engine housing. if the check engine light is on, you need to scan for codes to get started. if no check engine light is on that that makes it alot harder to diagniose. if no check engine light is on, i would look at the top of the computer bracket to see if its rusted up, that coilud be sign of water coming in and flodding computer causing running issues/drivability porblems.
First thing we gotta find out where its coming from. After floor is dry sprinkle baby power on the floor and up my the fire wall and the check for the wet spots.
Possible causes: Lead in floor boards, a window replacement where the gasket was correctly installed.Drainage passage clogged for winshield
wiper motor area.
Air can get trapped in your heater core. Sometimes you can use a floor jack and raise the passenger side of the vehicle, start the car and leave it running until the coolant cycles and the fans come on then rev the engine a few times to 2500 - 3500 rpm and let up. If this won't push the air through then you may have to remove the upper heater hose while the engine is running and let the air out. Probably a little harder than it sounds. I believe there also may be a coolant bleeder at the top of the intake where the coolant flows to the radiator. Crack that open with the engine idling.
I hope this helps.
There are 4 bolts holding the seat to the floor. 2 in front and 2 in rear. You will need 14mm socket and ratchet or wrench. You will also have to unplug some connectors under the seat, before you take it out of the car.
You may need a new ECM/computer. This model car is known for water leaking into the ECM from your air box. The drain hole in the bottom of the box gets clogged and after a while, your ECM gets flooded, because the water has no place to go, but onto your ECM, frying vitale circuits. Check your passenger side floor by the feet to see if its wet.
