Bad fuel pump? Not sure if that had a mechanical or electrical pump. You have to find out and see why it won't pump. If it is a mechanical pump, it will be on the engine. If an electric pump, it could be in the gas tank, but I believe it might be outside the tank, in the line somewhere from tank to the engine. Lots of imports started with pumps placed near the tank but next to a frame rail. It was in the fuel line between the pump and the engine.

SOURCE: replacing the fuel pump in my 92 honda

I believe the fuel pump on the 92 is located inside the fule tank. If it is you will have to drop the tank or sometimes there is access from the inside of the car. Depending on where the tank is located you can remove the rear seat and there is a panel you have to remove that will give you access to the pump. The panel could also be in the storge in back under the carpet.

check your wiring for dirty connections or broken wires, you may have wires that are rubbed through or connectors that are not making full contact. you will need an ohm meter and check wires for continuity. a wiring diagram will be needed.

99 honda accord

Hi, sounds like a fuel pump story. here is a quick test to know if your fuel pump has failed. If yoy can find some carburetor cleaner just find any vaccum hose direct on the intake manifold then umplug it and spray a resonable amount of clearner. reconnect and start engine. If it's a feul pump the car will start for few secs and die. if it doesnt start then we are in need of a spark. there's no spark at the plugs.

thanks

1996 Honda Accord start problem

fuel pump is most likely the culprit, especially if it fails to start intermittantly. The engine cranks over but doesn't fire up? About 95% of the time it's your fuel pump has siezed up.

Please do not rate this lower than helpful unless you can prove my theory in correct.
