How do i change the power steering pump on my 3.6L 2005 Cadillac CTS

Is the red security light flashing? No gas, could be fuel pump or a few other electrical issues.

What pulley ? Where is located ? center front of the engine ? Probably the water pump is bad . No seal to replace . What size engine ? 2.8 , 3.6 or 5.7 L

Have you checked your power steering fluid? If your fluid isn't low then you are probably going to need to change your pump. If it is low you need to find out where it is leaking from.

That would be the power steering pump pulley. It will require a power steering pump puller removal/install tool to replace it.

Have it checked that the power steering fluid is enough. If so, could just be that the system needs bleeding.

if you don't have the manual you can get a PDF version from the GM website.

Otherwise if you have the 3.6 liter in the 2005 you need to remove the engine cover. The P/S reservoir will be on the front of the motor on the drivers side.. You should see it as soon as you remove the cover.

I do not mean to be hurtful and it will take some time to do. Maybe all day if you have no experience. If you need instructions just maybe you should have some do it for you.

Take the cap off the power steering unit start car and slowly turn to right and left to bleed air out of system refill and put cap back on.
