Is it normal for the timing chain to twist on a 04 honda accord 4 cyclinder. is this a wear n tear

Technically, never, this is not considered a part that fails or wears out. Timing belts? every 105,000 miles. These are on 2009 v6 Accords.

Possibly, but I'd replace the leaking gasket/seal.
Also note, the Honda uses a timing belt (not a chain), and you don't want oil on the belt. If there's a chance the belt has gotten oil on it, you want to take the timing belt cover off, remove the belt, and clean all the oil covered parts. The oil can wear out the belt as well as cause the belt to slip timing

Dont think Honda Motor Company would cover it on an 04 plate anyway, so get a second opinion from another Honda dealer, dont think it will need all of those parts either unless Honda have modified all of them which is unlikely

On Honda Accord between 2002 - 2010 all they came with was an 2.4L engine, all have timing chain in them, no timing belt

50K miles IS premature for a chain to break. They're pretty tough. Are you sure it's a chain? If it is a BELT, it could be old and broke due to age. They are a synthetic rubber and eventually they deteriorate over time.

You don't specifically state what kind of car your friend has, so I am presuming a 1998 Accord. That car should have a belt.

Either a belt or a chain can fail prematurely if the tensioning system fails. This will allow excessive slack in the chain or belt which will cause damage to the affected drive components. The tensioning systems can fail due to one or more of the following:

Lack of oil pressure, failed tensioning springs, failed pulley bearings, over-revving the engine for ridiculous periods of time, and failed plastic guide components.

Belts can also fail due to chemical contamination (oil or antifreeze leaking on the belt).

Finally - the water pump can fail which will derail the belt as the belt drives the water pump on many Honda 4 cylinder engines.

no, 12mm wrench or ratchet on 12mm socket. the piston is tough to push back in. its a twist in type and you will need some force to push and twist the piston back in. - note rear brake pads wearing out on the new 08-09 accords are very common and if under 16-18 thousand miles it may be covered. honda knows about this problem

It sounds like the key cylinder has broken due to wear and tear.. This is most likely caused by putting the key and pulling it out vigorously or by having a heavy key chain / accessories attached to the key.

2003 and up Honda Accord with 4 cylinder engines do indeed have a chain and the V6 has a belt which must be replaced at 110,000 miles. Why? Ask Honda, they designed the engines.
