No, i don't think its a code issue, maybe the player is not fit with the car, that things happening, i recommend on sony's players, they are strong and high quality players.
you need the owners manuel. there are some weird solutions th these problems. they vary with the accesories. try calling the service dept. at the dealer. they can be really helpful in most cases.

You will need to get the radio code for your car from your local dealer or you may get lucky on ebay. Either way, you may have to pay to get the code which i usually about $30. I would highly recommend looking up on the internet a step by step instruction on how to input the code, unless the dealer is willing to give you that information at no charge. Keep the code in a safe place because anytime you remove or lose power from the battery, you will have repeat the process each time.

usually when a code is needed you can talk to your local dealer and they should be able to get the code from the factory, when they get it usually you have turn the key to acc for about 5 minutes (sometimes longer) and then you input the code by whatever means like using your seek buttons to change the number and your volume knob or buttons to change which character you are wanting to change
