Use a 50/50 mix normally, and red additive not green. If you are in north Alaska or somewhere like that you may need to increase the concentration to 60/40 antifreeze/water, but don't go higher as it loses effectiveness.

1998 Toyota Camry. Why does my car lose power while driving, then an hour later it starts back up? Replaced fuel pump minus that filter, air filter, fuel filter.

Didn't I answer this yesterday?

You need an auto electrician to connect a professional grade scan tool computer, and set it to record live data and take it for a test drive. It will record exactly what goes wrong when the car loses power. That will dictate the fix. This type of fault you can't just guess.

My car toyota camry anti break light system is on, was is the cause

it means there is a fault in the system, not to worry though, your brakes will still work normally just the anti lock function is not operating. you probably have a dirty wheel sensor.

1998 Toyota Camry - as long as engine is idling car will get to normal temp and heater blows hot, start driving gauge goes to cold and so does heater

Sounds like you have a bad thermostat. It can be found behind the hosing that attaches to the engine that the lower hose goes to.

Anti frezze is very muddy

You are a candidate for a head gasket.

Have your local mechanic look at it sooner than later. You may get away with saving the heads.

Hope this tip guides you in to solving this problem

Change thermostat on 1998 toyota camry

1. Write down your radio code if it has some anti-theft device.
2. Allow the engine to cool down for about 3-hours before the start of this operation.
3. Open the hood, and disconnect the battery negative terminal. Tuck the negative terminal aside so it won't flip back.
4. Locate the radiator drain-plug (plastic wing-nut) on the lower back side of the radiator, and turn it backward to remove it.
5. Place a container under the radiator to catch the anti-freeze coolant.
6. Remove the radiator cap.
7. Once the coolant is drained, trace the upper radiator hose to where it ends on the engine(thermostat housing), and remove the hose with a medium size plier.
8. Loosen the three bolts holding the thermostat housing. Gently take out the housing.
9. Notice the position the thermostat was previously installed.
10. Replace the old thermostat, and the o-ring around it. Clean its mounting area. Notice that the o-ring fits around the thermostat.
11. Replace the thermostat housing and torque the three bolts to 78-inch pounds. Replace the upper hose.
12. Replace the radiator drain-plug.
13. Re-use the antifreeze coolant and be careful no dirt goes in with the coolant into the radiator.
14. Return the radiator cap.
15. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
16. Start the car and check for leak.

Important: Anti-freeze coolant harmful to the environment. Return unwanted anti-freeze coolant to collection areas.

My car is leaking anti-frezz from a L shape hose that comes out of the firewall and my car is stating to overheat.

Get it fixed, hoses that go through the firewall are usually part of the heating system. If your car has is overheating, it's is possible to warp the heads-worse case scenario. Cast iron heads are more forgivable, but aluminum heads are sensitve.

Anti frezze and transmission oil mixed

The cooler for the transmission goes through the side tank in the radiator. It burst and caused a leak and the fluids to mix. Be sure to change the filter in the tranny as well as flush it. For the engine and the hoses, leave the t-stat out and run it with plain water and some dawn dish soap to carry as much of the oily residue out of the cooling system. You will need to do this several times, use about 5-6 oz. of soap when you fill the cooling system up to flush the oily mix out.
