Jaguar taillight failure

Tail lights on Jaguar are malfunctioning. I have replaced the bulbs multiple times and checked the fuses as well. Sometimes when I hit a bump (like pulling in my garage)the tail lights will start working.

SOURCE: Rear interior light and door courtesy lights not working- Jaguar

take off the cover and replace them. if you have a volt/ohm meter you can put if on the car side and make sure you have voltage and the ohm meter on the buldb should give a 1 rating if its good. it would be the cheapest and easiest to just get a new bulb and see if it works then start checking fuses if its not the bulb.

SOURCE: 97 CAMRY TAIL LIGHTS PROBLEM

You are right you do have a short, but it's easy to fix at the same time it is expensive. In your trunk area you will find a bulb out relay it can be either in the right corner or left corner panel in the trunk area,if not there if may be under the rear deck of the trunk(under the rear window inside the trunk) It might be yellow brown or green. One fron the junk yard will work just as good as a new one.If you are skillful you can open it and solder the burned circuit, but you have to know what you are doing. You also neet to find out if you had a bad bulb that shorted so you can rest knowing that what caused it to burn out in the frist place is fixed.

I am having the same problem on an 04 2500hd there isa 15 amp stop light fuse inside the cab on the side of the instrument panel and a 25 amp stop light fuse under hood. you could also have a break switch issue the switch is located up on the break pedal linkage you should have power on the white wire when you push the pedal in (check with a test light) in my case I have a broken wire along the frame rail in the harness it is a light blue wire,

Sounds like you have a ground issue. Make sure you check the ground between the bulb socket and the body.

2001 jaguar s type - Right tail lamp failure message.... I replaced bulbs and fuse and tail lights still don't work but the dual element right break light does illuminate when I press the break also right...

There is a harness that you unplugged for the rear tail lamp. Make sure it is fully pressed and locked. This is always the cause on jags for tail lamp failure.

Bulb failures with no real pattern

check the front and rear turn signal and brake bulbs ,check for filament wear or drakness in bulb glass.if this is found replace bulb, you may also have a bad ground to a bulb socket, turn lights on (signal and break) and wiggle wires at bulb socket, watch light, if it dim any replace that socket and check the ground wire.

2002 Jaguar X-Type - Looking for the Taillight Fuse

The fuse you are looking for is in the Passenger Compartment Fuse Box, the fuse for the left hand tail lamp (viewed from the rear of the vehicle) is F64. The right hand tail lamp fuse is F63 - both are RED in colour and rated at 10 amps. Hope this helps.

Brake light out

You've got a broken or disconnected wire somewhere. Get a multimeter & check you have voltage on both sides of the fuse. If that's good you know you've got juice running out to the tail light. Remove the bulb & check for voltage in the socket. Chances are you have 20 years of corrosion behind the socket & it's dirty. Either way, you problem is a disconnected or corroded wire.

Where is the fuse box on a 1992 jaguar Xj6 soverign

There is a fuse box on either side of the driver and passenger footwells, and a small fuse box in the centre console. But if the taillights don't work, its probably just bulbs to replace

2000 jaguar xj8 tail lamps inop at times

It's most likely not a switch problem but more of a lose connction within the socket of the lamp. Apply some bulb grease and this should remedy your problem.

The next time you notice it isn't working, try tapping the body panel next to the lamp and see if the light comes back on. If it does....it's the bulb socket.
