1997 maxima se with 123,345 miles been setting for 8 months. Was driving hit the brake paddle nothing. Just had brakes installed last month.

May have improperly machined the rotors

check for a stuck brake caliper

I would have a local repair shop know all the details
& have them work on the ABS Braking System

Here is the basic maintenance list for your Jeep:

~ Replace fuel filter every 24,000 to 100,000 miles

~ Automatic transmission service every 24,000 to 100,000 miles

~ Wheel alignment check every 12,000 to 24,000 miles or as indicated by tire wear - offroad driving can knock wheels out of alignment, so budget for an alignment every 3 months, then watch tread wear to see if it's needed

~ Cooling system flush and refill every 40,000 to 100,000 miles

~ Belt and hose replacement every 60,000 to 100,000 miles or 5 to 8 years

~ Engine timing belt replacement every 60,000 to 100,000 miles (when equipped) or 5 to 8 years

~ Air conditioning performance check annually, usually in the spring - be sure to run your A/C during the winter for brief period to ensure all hoses and valves stay lubricated and operable

This is a good case for warranty repair. Often a noncovered part takes out a covered one and at least something is fixed free. Contact your salesperson first. Your car has been made for years and they know what is normal and not normal for it. It has been least than 11 months despite being over 12000 miles.

of course this is normal brake last around 12000 if you a like on the brakes some people are always on the brakes and go through brake pads every 2 to 3 month lol,, the front are at least 85% of the cars braking power so thats why the rear brakes last a lot longer, if you buy the parts yourself they are pritty easy to fit. if you wont me to give full instruction on how to change these I will do this would save you alot of money

Hey! I have a 97 Maxima SE and it runs great too! I have been through 4 alternators in 12 years....3 in the first 5 and finally one for the last 7. Make sure you have a new- Nissan part specific alternator. And, make sure your battery is not weak nor small for your car size. Hope this helps!

I thought this was free support. Apparently I was wrong. How did I fix it? Easy, I broke down on the freeway and got towed home on a flatbed! That was easy!!

Brakes can vary in the amount of time that they last. For starters there are many diffrent grades of pads, the cheap pads last me about a month, but the good expensive pads last me 6-8months or so, and I drive really hard. So depending on how drive can determine how long they last. Usually you can replace your rear pads once for every two or three sets of front pads you replace as most of the braking work is done from the front. Pads are made intentionally to squeak when they are running down, so when you hear that squeak get em replaced, but if the rear's aren't squeaking just change the front and do the rears next time.
