I will check and see, but with the milage on the truck (159K)...this may be the problem...I'll let you know. I got the truck at 40K, always regular oil changes and replaced an oxygen sensor the only issue I ever had other than a couple minor recalls. Thank you.I will check and see, but with the milage on the truck (159K)...this may be the problem...I'll let you know. repairpal.com/brake-hydraulic-system-red-warning-light If the brake hydraulic system red warning light comes on and stays on, this indicates... and seems to come on and off depending on whether the vehicle is turning, ... if it is discovered that the light was illuminating due to a low brake fluid level.
First have battery checked at a Interstate battery place or equivelant. All issues point to low voltage. A shorted battery will cause the alternator not to work.
Make sure all your battery connections are clean. take them off the battery and clean them and the posts on the battery .. also check the ground from the battery to the block and make sure its tight .. also check to see if the cable is tight on the starter when the engine is cold.. then check the back of the alternator to see if that positive line is tight on the alternator .. holler if you need more Jerry
how old is battery or does battery have any corrosion check to see if battery don't have a bad cell this may cause your pcm to go into limp mode which may cause bad start! double check the cables to see if loose or bad connection! or bad spark plug wires try these steps to verify that the pcm is ok that can get pretty expensive !!
If your battery starts turns the engine over, it is doing it's job well. It sounds like your engine computer is not liking the cold engine. If it has been a while since a tune up, it would not hurt to go ahead and do it, but if it runs ok after it warms up, I sould not worry about it a whole lot. When the engine is cold, the egr valve and other things that are made to limit polution tend to stick and give the computer bad readings. A serious tune up may fix it, and I think should, but you MAY still be in the same boat! That does not FIX it for you, but should ease your mind on the light.
anne, it sounds to me like dampness in the ignition process, if the engine is turning over at the turn of the key, then check the rubber ring seal inside your distributer cap(thats the coloured plastic cap with all the leads to the spark plugs) if its perished or showing signs of distortion, replace the whole cap. if its seems ok then try starting your engine at night or at least grey dark, open the bonnet and watch for sparks coming from any of the HT leads ( cable like things) that go to the spark plugs. If present either spray with "sparkseal"(short term solution) or replace the leads.Try this and if it doesn,t solve it , get in touch ok?
