SOURCE: 97 buick riviera check engine light

The code is for the TPS , several things can cause this tps not plugged in , or plugged in after the car was started. If the car runs good go to auto zone let them erase the code for free with their scanner and then see if it comes back on. most likely it was just a accident. but go check to make sure it is plugged in and that the wires to it are not pinched in any way.

Transmission clunking when shifting to drive from park

could be your motor mounts are bad or are going bad the rubber mounts weaken over time and when u shift the engine tilts farther then it should when it shifts from park to reverse or park to drive. Its also a good idea to check your transmission fluid level with the car running and pull out the dipstick. if the level is fine and ur ****** isnt slipping then its prolly not the ******.

My 1991 Honda Accord 2.2 auto will not start. The speedometer quit working, the check engine light and the S light came on while driving about 90 Km's per hour, then the car stalled. I tried to restart...

the S light is on more than likely because of you speedometer or your vss "vehicle speed censor" which is connected to your transmission im having the same problem on my 91 accord lx. check the codes and let me know what the codes are and i may be able help a little more if you dont know how to check the codes I can help with that as well

Speedometer quit, Drive 4 light started flashing, check engine light now on, slight power loss when accelerating

check your wheel speed sensors. and vehicle speed sensor on the transmission

drive 4 uses it to sense slip in the front/rear wheels.

check engine light on because it needs to know vehicle speed to shift properly.

no speedometer because it turns the voltage into a signal to the gauge

I went through 3 speedometer/tachometer/gas/temperature gauges with each one lasting about 2-300 miles on my 1995 buick riviera. i'll be driving around 65-70 and the needles will flutter and quit working....

It sounds like you are getting voltage spikes in the wiring leading up to the instrument cluster. check the wiring bundle for the cluster and make sure there is not a wire that is exposed and possibly grounding out. also check the alternator output for voltage irregularities via a volt meter or take it to an auto parts store or shop to have it checked. that could be the culprit.

Transmision quit shifting spedomitor quit working

The transmission quit shifting, and the speedometer quit working.
When you say the transmission quit shifting, do you mean you backed out of your driveway, started driving down the street, no speedometer, and you just stayed in 1st as the engine RPM's got higher and higher ?
Please explain what has happened. You should also have a check engine light on in your dash. You will have to plug a OBD II reader in to pull any codes, so we can help you find the problem. Please let us know.

Speedometer not working, high revs & won't shift out of low gear

Your issue is a bad "speed sensor". Your speedometer is controlled by a sensor in your transmission, and when it quits working your speedometer will not work, it can cause very irregular shift patterns and slipping. Replacing your speed sensor should resolve your issues.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.
