My wife drove the car this morning and when she was leaving a couple hours later, the car turns over good but does not fire. The security light is flashing but I am not sure if flashes all the time before it starts.

Hello; the one thing you can try before the dealer,(and if that is the the way you may have to go,and not to costly)is to remove both battery cables, the negative first then the positive, reinstall the same way, leave them off for a good 30 min's this sometimes works, lets the p.c.m readjust itself, like i said if this wont do it,the dealer can, with your paper work on the car, hope this works for you, good luck to you....

Hi I own A 98 Chevy Malibu, my ignition locked n i had to put a new ignition switch in, well now my cars tellin me Something Theft Service. Im wonder what I need to do? Iv unhooked battery for hours ect...

You need to reset the theft system. To do this, try to start it. It should start and die. Then after it dies and the theft light is flashing, leave the key on for 10 minutes. After 10 min, the theft light should go out. After the theft light goes out, turn off the key. Count to 5, then restart it. Then it should work.

My theft light is flashing but my 1997 expedition wont start. The vehicle turns over but just don't start.

ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM Passive anti-theft system
Your ignition key has a unique imbedded transponder which engages engine electronics and allows the vehicle to be started. Without the use of your special ignition key, the vehicle will not start.

During each vehicle start, the coded key is read by the anti-theft system. If the key’s ID code matches the code in the anti-theft system, the vehicle is enabled to start.

Anti-theft system
Briefly illuminates when the ignition is turned to the ON position to verify that the passive anti-theft system is operating properly.

Also, its possisble that tou have actovated the fuel pump switch.

CHeck it.

Is reading theft system and wont start

Try cleaning your key off... those keys have security chips and if you get the oily or dirt on them your car wont start. Or try using a spare key if you have one... Good Luck!
