Take 12 V Positive wire direct from battery to wire from clutch.
Does The Clutch Engage
If No Clutch Needs Replacement
If Yes ,Does Your Vehicle Have Climate Control If Yes This is Probably The Fault

Testimonial: "Thanks Gordon, it worked! "

SOURCE: AC compressor not engaging

Hi, you should never bypass the compresor because it may cause damage to the sistem including the compresor, even if the sistem is charged if it gets a little low it may prevent the cluth to engage to prevent damage ,be sure that you have the proper freon presure.also check the ac relay and the fuse.....good luck

SOURCE: A/C compressor clutch won't engage, system won't cool

Your system might be low on freon. Get a kit with a hose that has a gauge on it so you can see if you are in the "Good" range. The cycling switch won't close unless there is enough freon in the system. You can temorarily jumper the connector for the cycling switch to see if the compressor will come on. If it does, you are low on freon for sure. Do not let the compressor run for more than 15 - 30 seconds with it jumpered.
report back results.

SOURCE: My ac is not working on my 2000 mustang 3.8L. I'm

You were close! Most Fords have a CCRM (Continuous Control Relay Module) thats on the passenger side fenderwell. It has 4 relays: one for the AC compressor cluth, one for the fuel pump, and two for the electric fan (high- and low-speed.) The AC is the one that fails the most. You can replace the CCRM by removing the intake air filter box and working through the fenderwell openings. If it gets to difficult you must remove the wheel and splash cover to replace it from the wheel opening.

AC fuse and relay for 2001 Ford Expedition

Pull a relay out and use paper clip to jump. Usually cross corner. Watch compressor clutch and see if engages when key is turn ahead. Don't start car. If it does good. Now take alligator clips and check relay. Clip each wire to negative and positive battery post. Then clip negative to negative relay pin. And touch positive to correct pin. If it doesn't click do it another relay so you know your doing it right. If determined relay is good. And your compressor clutch did engage when testing it. You are low on freon.

No current to ac compressor

A mechanic would start at the compressor and work back.
Did you jumper the low pressure switch, or the relay, or put power directly to the ac clutch ?
You have a low pressure switch that should be closed and a high pressure switch that should be closed to put power to the compressor clutch. If the freon pressure drops below 20psi the low switch opens, if it goes above 300 psi the high switch opens.

1998 dodge ram1500 airconditioner clutch not getting power

You may just be low on refrigerant, if the system is low the compressor will not engage, the oil that lubricates the system is carried by the refrigerant as it is pump around the system, so if it is low the compressor will seize up, so it is shut off by the low pressure sensor switch. To confirm this is the problem have a shop that repairs AC systems run a pressure test on the system with a set of AC pressure gauges. If it is low you have a leak, it must be repaired before it is re charged.

Ac compressor good but wont start

You must have a leak, the compressor will not run if the system is low on charge, the charge carries the oil to lube the parts of the system. Also do an electrical jumper of the compressor cycling/pressure sensing switch.

Replaced the ac compressor but now no power to compressor but have power to low and high pressure switches. checked relay under hood, relay and fuse in cabin. what am i missing?

Put a jump wire in the high pressure switch plug. If the compressor works. replace the high pressure switch. Let me know and we can go from there.

When i turn on the a/c,the compressor does not work

CHECK REFRIGERANT CHARGE. USING A MANIFOLD GAUGE SET. HOOK MANIFOLD GAUGE SET TO LOW PRESSURE PORT AND HIGH PRESSURE SIDE PORT. LOW SIDE PRESSURE SIDE SHOULD HAVE 25 - 36 PSI AND HIGH PRESSURE SIDE SHOULD BE 178 - 237 PSI. IF LOW SIDE PRESSURE SIDE READ BELOW 20 PSI THE LOW PRESSURE SWITCH WILL NOT TURN ON THE AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH NEED TO ADD LITTLE MORE REFRIGERANT. IF REFRIGERANT LEVEL CORRECT CHECK AC COMPRESSOR FUSE AND RELAY.IF POWER GOING TO AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH YOUR COMPRESSOR CLUTCH HAS OPEN WINDING. AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH NEED REPLACING.

On my 2007 Dodge 2500 diesal the AC clutch will not engage. I found the fuse box under the hood and there is only one 10 amp fuse that says hvac. so where is the clutch relay or fuse? Which big fuse...

there is no relay in that box that is called the tipm or totally integrated power module. that module is controlled by a computer and should be checked with a scanner to see if you have a code for the a/c. i m having the same problem i have been told it could be low freon but can not get the clutch to engage to check the high and low pressure. Also read where it may be the diode in the clutch on the ac compressor if you have a multimeter probe the compressor a good compressor will read somewhere between 3.5 and 4.0 anything else and clutch needs to be replaced. other possibilities may be the high or low pressure switch on the line. on myh 2006 2500 diesel it is located near the plug for the compressor on bottom side of motor. hope this helps.

Got a 1999 Buick Century, AC stopped working so I filled up the FreOn and it didn't make a difference. Checked all Fuze's and Relays (to the best of my ability) still no change. There are no knobs, it...

Can't see filling with freon without compressor turning. Put jumper wire on high/low pressure switch harness to see if clutch engages. If so, bad high/low switch. If not, check power to high/low harness via fuse, relay, or dash control.Battery voltage applied to compressor if accessible will also engage compressor clutch and read your low side with your fill gauge. 30-35lbs is good
