They are operated by thermostat electically, they shut off at a predetermined temp so steam won't develop in the cooling system when the engine isn't circulating the coolant

SOURCE: 2001 Impala Cooling Fan Not coming on ever and car

Cooling fan relay switch (in the fuse box uner the hood). Look for othger relays in there that are the same type number (they are all marked). If you find one that is the same as the cooling fan relay, then swap the two relays and check. (Turn on car and turn on A/C ... fan will start ... or not).

Fan motor could be bad (most likely).
If you remove it yourself, don't scrapr the radiator fins with the fan blades.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: My radiator cooling fan is always running once the car heats up.

Yes, I would suspect the Thermal Relay is defective. Replace it.

If you have done this already, then bleed the cooling system, this is all you lack, just get the air out of the system, two bleed ports, one on the thermostat housing, and one on the engine near the water pump, just bleed them out as the car warms up,the thermostat bleeder last,if this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

2001 chrysler town country ex 3.8 v-6 how to put on a radiator fan relay? what does the relay look like?

the radiator fan relay does not look like a relay at all. on this car is a solid state relay meaning there are no moving parts. it is a black plastic box with small metal rods sticking out of it in a grid (for cooling). it is located on the metal bumper (not the one you see from front of vehicle, the one behind it) you can get to it by removing the grill or just taking out the top screws and pulling it back.

What is the easiest way to get to the radiator fan relay on the bumper behind the front grille?

Yes, first remove the drivers side headlight. There are 3 bolts to remove for the headlight assembly. Once it is removed, you can have access to the relay. You may have to remove some of the screws that hold the top of the front facia to the cross member to give you some more access, but you don't have to take off the whole grill to replace the relay. Hope this helps.

Tempature Gauge is not working on my 2001 Chevrolet Impala LS.

Sounds like a bad coolant temp sensor. Do you have a check engine light on?

The fan for the cooling system is not working and is brand new

There is a sensor on the radiator that controls a relay to turn the fan on. There is also a fuse in the fuse panel under the hood. Make sure the radiator is full.
