PCM make check every now and then . But engine has to meet certain condition. like example ,engine temp,engine speed, engine rpm, and the load on engine and so on all to say you fix the problem of tcc solenoid stuck or poor performance because you change trans, oil But don't think it will solve any engine light on
Have you fixed whatever caused the code to come on?
If not you will not be able to clear the code and pass emissions.
Two reasons -
1. If the problem has not been repaired the check engine light will come back on.
2. Clearing the codes usual means that the OBDII monitors will also be cleared. There will be a code stored for this until the monitors are complete. If they see this co they know what you are up do and you do not pass.
Probably the sensor. Hair line crack in sensor can cause the check engine light to come on .When the sensor gets hot it expands and causes a fault reading.
the infomation u were given is 100% wrong! if the light is coming on then a problem exists in the OBD 2 engine control system, there will be a fault code stored for the check engine light, who told u this the dealer??
Spark plug wires cause a big part of this also as I have had 3 kia cars that misfire idle rough engine light comes on causes codes to come on and we finally figured it out to change the spark plug wires hope this helps
I have a 1999 Mirage 1.5 - with 225thou miles on it - my light stay's on too- I was told it was an O2 senser- but I noticed that the spark plugs come loose alot. When I tighten them and have my light reset it stays off till I need to adjsut them again-?

sometimes it has black smoke coming out of tailpipe wen it comes on
when it comes on after shutting it off takes about 20 cranks to start again
i take battery cable off for 30 sec. reconnect it starts right up
mechanic thinks computer is bad
and im not gonna pay 300 dollars for new computer and find out it does the samething
