First and foremost, you should refer to the owner's manual to find the location of the fuse box. If you can't find it, look under the dashboard under the steering wheel; the fuses will be within a covering or panel. Inside you will find the fused connection for the instrument cluster.

Your instrument cluster actually has four fuse's an all of them are in the under hood fuse box . IPC/DIC 10 amp , ****** 15 amp , IGN E 10amp , SEO IGN 10 amp . The last two are powered with ignition on , first two are hot at all times . What problem are you having ? Lights not working , gauges not work etc.... GM trucks silverado , sierra , escalades ect..... had instrument cluster problems - 2003 to 2006 . Gauges not working , odometer - lighting etc.... stepper motors control the gauges , solder joints fail . If your 2003-2006 GM vehicle displays any of the following instrument cluster problems:

  • Faulty gauges or erratic speedometer.
  • Total power loss or intermittent power.
  • Dim PRNDL display.
  • Intermittent gauges.
  • Sticking gauges.
  • Dim or dead back lighting.
  • Parasitic draw (causing battery drain).
  • Display changes languages.

SOURCE: instrument panel cluster gauges and odometer has stopped working

I had all my analog instrument panel gauges stop working after they did the state emissions test. I found the proper fuse in the fuse block located under the hood. Simply unplugged the fuse, noticed it was still good, and plugged the same fuse (10A) back in and all the gauges started working again. Guess it needed a reset atfer they plugged in for the emissions.

Can't find the fuse that controls the tail lights for a 1992 GMC sierra. Our tail lights don't work and the instrument light (where the speedometer is) doesn't work. The list in the manual isn't clear

The fuse you are looking for should be in the middle of the fuse box and is marked instrument cluster. Chances are that it is good. On a GM if the tail lights and dash lights go out at the same time that is a sure sign that you need a new headlight switch. Hope this helps.

Why my instrument cluster not working on 04 gmc yukon

Hi, this could be because of a blown fuse. or bad sending units. check the fuse box for blown fuses first.
