I guess my first question is, have you checked the computer for trouble codes ? With water on the engine the problem could be a long list of things including water in a harness connector. Even the plug wires could have been damaged.
Well I don't know about the rest of the problems but the heat and steaming more than likely is Ur thermostat. I would change that out to start if steaming continues I would look into a water pump. But start with the thermostat and go from there. Hope this was some help
YES,you steam cleaned the engine,it may right itself after drying out(hopefully)when you steam clean, the water particles are much smaller than a normal "hose down"so you may have wet the electronics.if it starts, then let it run for awhile to (hopefully)dry out itself.
Some of the grime, etc on the engine prior to steam cleaning along with any solvents used may have affected the drive/fan belt. I would suggest you either check tightness of the belt and possibly consider replacing it.
