Hi,

This is an issue w/the EGR system.

The causes for a P0403 EGR code could be any of the following:

  • Bad EGR solenoid
  • Excessive resistance in control circuit (PCM controlled ground) due to an open, chafing or damage to the harness
  • Poor connection at the EGR solenoid harness (worn or loose pins)
  • Water intrusion at the EGR solenoid harness
  • Blockage in EGR control solenoid holding solenoid open or closed causing excessive resistance
  • Loss of supply voltage to EGR solenoid
  • Bad PCM

How many miles/kms on the Escape? If the EGR is bad, it could be due to a plugged catalytic converter in the exhaust.

Where is the factory preset code for keyless entry on a 2012 ford escape located?

The original door code was indeed on a card with the owners manual. If that is gone, the door code is on a module inside the center console on 2008-2012 Ford Escapes. There is a discussion with pictures at one of the Escape forums: http://www.escape-city.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=8215

I had to find my code on my 2012 Escape.

2001 Ford Escape 3.0L V6 Engine Code P1409

Had this code for over 2 years on my 02 escape. FINALLY, found the solution. DONT replace your egr vacuum solenoid (unless you see broken pins on the connector). You can always test the solenoid to see if it still works if you suspect the solenoid is the culprit. Rather, most likely the problem will be in your electrical harness that connects from the solenoid to the pcm. I had no visible broken wires. However, in my case, my female connector harness that plugs into the solenoid was faulty. Replaced it by soldering the wires from a "new" harness that i got from the junk yard. If this fails for you, the problem will be almost guaranteed to be in either your pcm hardware or a broken pin at the pcm connection.

Ford escape location of set factory code for entry code on door

on my 2010 ford escape XLT i found the keyless entry code printed on a label on the smart junction box which is inside the center console. To get to the smart junction box follow these instructions.
1. with a non-marring tool(i used a putty knike wrapped in plastic wrap), pry up the chrome trim piece around the shifter.
2. Remove the storage tray from underneath the center console armrest and leave the armrest cover open.
3. Grab the center console finish panel near the cupholders and pull straight up.
4. Pull the finish panel up and back then set it aside.
5. The smart junction box is to the right and slightly ahead of the gear shifter. There should be a label with a bar code that says FoMoCo. In the corner of this label is a 5 digit number. This is the factory code.
Hope this helps.

I have a 2003 ford escape. Check engine light came and my code showed P1405 code. Replaced EGR valve and sensor. Code does not show up on pocket scanner, but the escape stills loses power and will barely...

On alot of cars you must erase the code after repairs, the code is pending in the memory and can still run bad till cleared.try clearing the code
