Please call me its easier to explain on the phone, in the mean time try something easy hit the fuel pump on thebottom with a brick or rock then have someone listen to the fill neck of the tank for the two second "buzz" as soon as you turn on the ignition, has this vehicle been run way way low on fuel many times or the fuel filter neglected to been changed at the 15,000 miles interval?
call me or I can call you 253-691-6206

It sounds like the transmission torque converter clutch is staying locked up and stalling the engine out. There is a plug on the side of the transmission that can be unpluigged but the converter will not lock up and it will affect fuel economy on the highway. Proper fix is to remove the transmission and replace the torque converter and repair the control circuit.

try a little starting fluid and if it starts it might be the fuel pump or the fuel filter .. starting fluid will let you know if its a fuel problem or just what .. thanks Jerry

Have the fuel pressure at the fuel rail checked. If you just want to throw parts at it: Fuel filter by the tank first. Fuel pressure regulator next. Order of ascending expense and likely hood. Does the fuel pump hum louder lately? The fuel pump may be on it's way out. It's not getting enough fuel to do anything but idle. Why that is takes some investigation. Somebody like Auto Zone may check your fuel pressure. If the fuel pressure is good, bad spark plug wires are the next guess. Lift the hood and run the engine in the dark (take the light bulb under the hood out if it still works to do this) If you see little lightening bolts traveling over the engine you need new plug wires. If the fuel pressure is good, the wires are good, change the spark plugs. Good Luck!
