Try looking in the area of the left rear wheel. jack it up, and use safety stand, pull wheel off, there should be a cover over it. Follow lines from tank to that area. Look for a filter in that area too, or ahead of it in the line. Get someone to turn key, just to on, and see if you hear it come on momentarily. Personally, i'd try new filter first because your going to want to change it anyway if pump needs to be done.

Gotta remember though, it probably won't cycle(hum) if system already up to pressure. Did you try to start it?

New pump about $140 at autozone. Recommends as I do, dropping tank & cleaning tank & strainer before replacing pump.
Also, pump probably won't cycle until pressure drop detected, due to engine running, or leak in line, or defective pump not able to reach max pressure required. Don't suppose you have access to a fuel pressure gauge, just to confirm?

Did you check for power when no start, at pump with 12 volt test light?

1987 Honda Accord stalled for 2 years trying to run it.

Sounds like ist starving for fuel, check line and filters for a block, then if no better chck carburation block or fuel pump.

Engine speed hunts on idle. Auto trans slow shift.

The fast idle valve is inside the throttle body. Sometimes it backs out and needs turned back in (it's threaded). This will cause the loping idle.

Get transmission filter changed with new fluid. Honda does not recommend transmission flushing.

Does the 06 Honda Accord have auto door locks?

depends on the model. Some come from honda, others come with the option to have it added later from honda or aftermarket. I have an LX accord and that was the case so I had it installed aftermarket but my HX civic had it stock from honda. (contact honda to see if that is an option for your model)

Honda accord exr 1987 automatic trans.

It's hard to understand when you say it feels like a manual shift. Noise? Feel? I do know that the 87 auto trans does have a weak 1st to 2nd shift drum (as explained to me by my mechanic) that makes a grinding, elongated shift under heavy acceleration when it starts to wear. Under normal acceleration, 1st to 2nd shifts were normal (crisp, immediate). Since that day 8 years ago, I've avoided starting off to quickly, and so far have saved myself a tranny overhaul.
