Exhaust manifold replacement

I just change the exhaust manifold, but there are smoke coming from the whole new part, not from the holes, the heat shield has a little bit of oil o lubricant, could it be that the reason? or is it because it is a new part?

It is the oils burning off the new part which is coated to prevent rust while on the shelf, it will burn off and turn the same color as the other one is.... nothing to worry about.

SOURCE: 1993 TOYOTA TERCEL 1500cc Valve Seals Replaced now smokes much worse

You either have had the wrong valve seals installed, they are physically missing, or the valves are incorrect (too loose in the guides/stem too thin). The rocker arm seals will not contribute to your issue. If it did not have the oil smoke before you took the head off, the issue is with whatever the machine shop did. Valve seals have to fit TIGHT, or oil will go down the valve stem into the intake.
Take the head back to the machine shop & tell them to fix it. For free.

SOURCE: Lexus ES300 White smoke out the exhaust no milky substance in oil

It could be the intake gaskets or even still the head gasket. How about the coolant ? Did you refill with same type coolant ? Have you noticed if it's thick and gooey ? mixing coolants will sometimes produce a thick gooey coolant that clogs up the cooling system. If the car ran hot it could also be a cracked head or block. Warped heads also. Somehow the coolant seems to be getting into the cylinder(s).

SOURCE: coolant leak

More than likely it is coming from the intake manifold. You can use a pressure tester that hooks to the radiator and use a flashlight and mirror to get a better look at where it is coming from.

SOURCE: Accelarating from 25 to 40 MPH - a "rattle" in exhaust system

Had my y-pipe replaced (bad cats) and the bolts at the y-pipe flange where it attaches to the exhaust manifolds started to get loose and I go tthe viberating (tinning) noise. Took it in the first time and they tightened everything up but it seems it's doing it again so I'm going to try to fix on my own. Just wondering how much of a pain it's going to be to get to the bolts and what size...

SOURCE: volvo 850 smoke coming from exhaust manifold

Not to worry. Run the engine up to operating temp before jumping to conclusions and let the heat burn off any excess oil. A leaf will not do any damage.Do not let the engine overheat while idling and if the oil light comes on switch off immediately.
The smoke from the exhaust is oil deposited by oily assembly hands just burning off. It should dissipate after about 15 minutes at most.(or 5 miles' drive)

Testimonial: "yup kept running it and watching stopped smoking idle eventually smoothed out. only two problems left, bad o2 sensor (knew that before i started), and a high idle, ill worry about the high idle later. :)"

white smoke from the exhaust and overheating would almost certainly mean a blown head gasket.
the head gasket has gone between a cylinder and a cooling channel so exhaust gasses can get in to the cooling system resulting in the boiling and water from the cooling system is getting into the cylinder resulting in the white smoke (actually steam) from the exhaust.
the exhaust manifold is a separate issue that can be replaced when the head gasket is repaired.

Smoke coming from around the manifold on grand prix

I would start by checking the heater hoses to find what could be a pin-hole spraying on the exhaust manifold. Also check the heat control valve for coolant leak. Hope this helps you out. Best of luck. Let me know please. Thanks for using FIX-YA.

There is smoke coming from a crack in the exhaust manifold

Hi

Most unusual for the exhaust manifold to crack, normally any leaks are usually due to faulty manifold gaskets, or the down pipe sealing ring.

I am sure if you lubricate the fixing nuts well, before removal of the manifold, this is what you will find.

Good Luck !

Give me feed back if you like.

A FixYa rating would be Nice...Thanks...John.

Oil dripping from exhaust manifold

Either the cylinder head is cracked or, Is it possible that a stud had once been broken off in the hole(s) and when they were drilled out the drill went a bit to deep and punctured the cylinder head? That is about the only reason their would be oil coming out of the manifold stud holes as the holes are not connected internally to anything.
