u need to get a fault diagnostic test done the it will give u all the trouble codes on ure vehicle most garages can do this if there machine is conpatible to run to ure car should cost u no more than £50.00 to do this also it will bring up any history of faults to ure car hope this helps u craig

maybe computer under the passenger side floor board. If the sport light is flashing, then it could be the speed sensor. This link can show you how to check the check engine light on this car: http://troublecodes.net/honda/ You need to find the blue plug and insert a jumper wire, then you need to count the blinks in the led lights, and then compare it to the trouble codes. Carefully pay attention to the blinks, some will be short and others long. Long I think are 10s and shorts are ones. Once you get the code, then scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see the OBD1 codes, that is the one you need. Hope this helps somebody.
SOURCE: speedometer quit working
In all probability the speedometer wire has become unhooked at the transmission / transaxle end. It is just a sensor held down with 3 bolts, and the wire plugs into it. If not the case, either the wire broke somewhere along the line, or in worst case, it became unhooked at the speedometer end, (almost impossible).
