Hi Bernard:
The FLASHER is located under the driver dash it is a round fuse (it's located adjecent to the fuse block, and it's square, yellow in color).

Also, I suggtes to check for power at the junction box under the dash at terminals 1 and 6 with the combination flasher removed. Then check with a powered test lamp if test lamp lights pin 7 when signaling left and pin 8 when signaling to the right.

If the test results are correct, replace the Combination Flasher/DRL (Daytime Running Lights) module.

Gain access to the multifunction switch connector. Locate the Light Blue/Yellow wire and ground it. This should activate the right side turn signals. Locate the Light Blue/White wire and ground it. This should activate the left side turn signals. If both sides do work, the problem is in the multifunction switch. Verify the Black wire in the same connector is grounded at all times. If so, replace the multifunction switch.

Here is some reading on how the system works.

ELECTRONIC DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT (DRL)
The Combination Flasher/DRL is a module providing turn signal, hazard warning, and daytime running light functions (for Canadian vehicles), and has been designed with internal relays to take advantage of low current switching requirements in the vehicle. It is plugged into the junction block at positions three and four, where all wiring associated with its operation is terminated. The junction block is adjacent to and left of the steering column of the vehicle.

On vehicles built for use in the United States, only position four is used. Vehicles built for use in Canada utilize both positions three and four.

To gain access to the device, remove the lower steering column cover and knee blocker.

The combination-flasher/DRL may be operated in its hazard warning mode either with or without the ignition circuit being active. However, in order to operate in the turn signal mode or the DRL mode, the ignition circuit must be completed to the module.

While the combination-flasher portion is idle, there is no current drawn through the module. The device does not become active in the turn signal or hazard warning modes until a signal ground circuit is supplied to either of the turn signal inputs or the hazard warning input. With the ignition OFF, there is no current drawn through the module.

While the ignition is ON, the front turn signal filaments are illuminated steadily thus providing the DRL function. The DRL function may be inhibited by applying a signal ground input from either the park brake circuit or the headlamp relay activation circuit.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I will appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

SOURCE: Turn signal mounted headlight dimmer switch will not stay on high

This switch is not mounted around the column it is mounted on the side. Remove the clamshell around the column and you you can see the switch is mounted with 2 or3 screws. The harness goes down through the column. These are pretty simple to change. No special tools required exept may internal torx because some of these are held in with external torx screws. Please let me know what you find and please rate. Also if you still need more reassurance go to a parts store and look at the new part.

Turn signal flasher location 2003 suzuki XL-7

the FSM book covers this.
as does alldata.com, (USA cars)
checked fuses yet?
turn/back fuse.
feeds the.:
turnback relay & answer back relay (module)
a digital switch in the lever (combo) it just sends ground logic
level to the module.
so sound to me to be
one light is shorted. (or trailer wire hacks) "visual inspections!,"
or the module is bad.
if both sides are bad, seems bad module to me,
if all lights blink fully bright on hazard the lights should be good.

the module is just under the steering wheel , under those
plastic covers, the books shows simple access. to the combo
my book dont show module location
i use a rubber hose to my ear to find any relay, clicks.
if you find hazard click , (assuming it does) then same place
is the turn sigs.
its not in the fuse box, cab , i looked.

hope that helps.

S10 turn signal flasher location

If your emergency flashers are working, you don't need a flash relay.
The multi-function switch you're referring to isn't all that hard to do. What isn't working? What unit stopped all together?

Turning signal not working

the turn signal module(handle) is broken. behind the steering wheel, take off the housing. there are only two screws that hold it in place and the wiring harness, one click and it comes off. replace that and it should work. it controls your lights, fog lights, turn signals, wipers, anything connected to it. that really goes out before the blinker relay(clicker)

Fuse for turn signals keeps blowing on my 2002 hyundai santa fe. I replace it and it lasts about 4-7 days before it goes again.

No, not a relay. You have a short somewhere. It might be your turn signal switch. Do all the signals work on outside of car? If you have one not working, that may be where short has developed-in the lines to the one not working. If they all work, I think you might need a new switch. If you have a tilt steering wheel, check the harness in the steering column leading up to turn switch for wires that kinked, stripped, or appear bad. Good luck.

93 buick century -turn signals

The Buick Century uses separate relays for the hazard warning and turn signal functions. The turn signal relay is located on the accelerator pedal bracket, and the 4-way flasher relay is located on the convenience center near the left kick panel. Try switching these two relays with one another to see if your turn signals work instead of your 4-ways.
