I think this is a grid type(wires) rear defroster as opposed to a fan style.then when you push the button to turn on the rear defroster you should hear a click this tells you the system is working from the fuse to the rear window.what you have to do is check the rear window grid(wires) with a test light and you will probably find some of the grids not working which indicates a break in the grid line and needs repair.you start with a test light at one end and you should see it light up brightly at one end of the grid and as you move along the grid wire to the other side of the window you should see the light gradually get dimmer, when you hit a spot were the light stops working you just have to norrow down the area of the break and mark it with a marker below the grid, when you have done the complete window you will know the areas that need repair.you can buy a defroster grid repair kit and repair it.follow the directions.before checking the grid wires check the area where the car wires connect to the window at both sides of the window.sometimes there is a problem in this area.

Rear defrost not working on 2004 Impala

Most GM cars and trucks use the fuse panel for safety with the rear defroster...Check your owners manual for the location of the fuse block...I think it is inside your glove box...Try the fuse first...if not the fuse...your options include replacing the glass inserted strips...(do not remove) with a rear shelf defroster blower motor... or an add on rear window defroster...Your auto parts stores should have both...Hope this helps.

Rear defroster not working

Check the fuse it should be labeled in the fuse panel as rear def. If its blown replace it and if that doesnt fix it or if the fuse blows again then u have an electrical problem and will need to have a technician look at it.

Rear defroster inop

easy fix is sometimes the "circuit breaker" in the inside fuse panel, on GM products they are likely silver colored and pull out and plug in just like a fuse. Some car makers have the diagram inside the fuse cover which makes it convenient to see which fuse or breaker applies to the defogger. you can switch identical cir.brkr.s with each other to see if then it operates. then get a new one from your parts store. I switch the power seat relay with the rear defrogger relay and this confirms my check before spending any money. good luck keith

All 4 of my power windows stopped working, and i can't find anything about a power window fuse in my manual

Power window usually don't have a fuse but an automatically resetting breaker. If all four windows stopped working at the same time check the body control module that is what manages the power windows. Good luck.

NO REAR WINDOW DEFROST

First thing to do is test these fuses with a tester light. Check the A/C cruise control fuse 10 amp (left side of dash in panel), heated mirror fuse 10 amp (right side of dash in panel), this is also where you will find the circuit breaker and relay for the rear defroster. Test the breaker for power in and out. Feel the relay to see if it clicks when you turn on the rear defrost

Which fuse controls the rear defroster?

fuse No. 9 powers the solid state time inside rear defogger control and washer/wiper switch. There is also a circuit breaker 15 that provides the actual power for the defroster grid. Fuse 10 provides power for the wiper/washer function. Fuses and circuit breaker are located in the Instrument panel fuse block.

WERE IS THE FUSE FOR MY REAR DEFROST FOR MY 03 MONTE CARLO

there's a 60 amp fuse in the lower fuse box under the hood, there's also a relay in the passenger side fuse panel behind the door and a breaker but the breaker is difficult to open up. check your plugs in your rear defrost screen first, the top is for the antenna but the other two are for the defrost make sure they're not rusty.
