Stereo and clock quit working, the electric door locks only work when the car is running or the key is on, the alarm that sounds when you leave the lights on(and key is off)does not work and the keyless entry does not work. All quit working at the same time. Any help is greatly appreciated.

i have kinda the same problem. Radio and clock reset everytime the car is turned off, and the alarm for the headlights being left on goes off as soon as the engine stops. I've got an aftermarket alarm/immobiliser installed and this is only working intermittently as well. All problems started at the same time.

I have the exact same thing going on. The locks only work when the car is on, keyless entry doesn't work, my clock and radio are both dead, and the lights on my rearview mirror don't work.

MY 96 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO, RUNS FINE, BUT THE COURTESY LIGHTS EITHER CLICK OFF AND ON OR JUST STAY ON. ALSO , WHEN I DRIVE, THE LOCKS CLICK FROM LOCKED TO UNLOCKED ALMOST CONTINUOSLY.. MY ALARM

The problem is the remote. What I think is happening.... is that the battery in the remote controls all those same functions that you are now manually controlling with your key. The reason the alarm works without the remote is that it is powered by the actvation of the power locks. Go put battery in your remote and I would just about guarantee you that everything will work the way it is supposed to... I wish you good luck. and God Bless\

Alarm set

this is a factory alarm, the problem is the alarm is active, you will need to use the door locks to turn alarm off, insert key in driversdoor and lock and then unlock door this will turn alarm off, if that doesnt work then use pass/side door, the lock has a built in switch that knows when the door is locked or opened, the driversdoor may have a bad switch so inturn the computer thinks the door was forced opened without key and it is turning alarm on, so again use the key to unlock door try the pass/side if driversdoor doesnt work. good day

Chime does not work when opening the door after the car is shut off and also when the running lights are left on after the car is shut off. Chime does work however for a brief second when turning on

There is a switch in the latch of your door which is broken. They used to use easily replaceable plunger switches now they have incorporated the switch into the door lock latch mechanism making it more expensive than necessary. I had same problem. You probably also set off your alarm quite frequently as well. If you shut off your car and try to start it after 30 seconds the alarm sounds, it did in my case. Luckily, I had purchased one of those extended warranties as my car was used. I still had to pay $100 but I think the switch is just over $120 this for me covered labor as well.

Honda CRV 2002 Power Door lock

try testing or replaceing the drivers door lock actuator, reprogram ur key fobs and try unlocking and locking ur doors. as far as the lights and reminder,....it sounds like a seperate problem. but try the door actuator first (drivers side always act up and cause every other actuator to act up... like a bad kid that gets the rukkus started and ruins things for everyone..

After alarm goes off, all electrical works except car won't start

hi there
from what it sounds to me is that the alarm is still in anit theft mode
i had this happen to my vehicle

one thing you can try is lock all the doors try and unlock from the passenger side make sure that all the lock come up to the top where they should be
then try it

if that does not work then lift up the rear of the car like it was being towed and it should reset the alarm
short of that you will have to have alarm shop come to you

Alarm / electrical issues for 1998 Cabrio

Sounds like 2 problems. One a low battery. When you used the laptop you might have drained the battery of the vehicle. The alarm sounds like broken wires in door harnesses between the doors and frame. Remove the rubber seal beween the door and body of the car and look for cracked and broken wires. If they are broken or touching it can cause many wierd problems. Once you locate it which is easy you can show a certified mechanic and he or she can repair or replace the harness.

Electrical

Go inside the vehicle, dont put key in ignition, leave driver's door open, press the auto lock button on the driver's door, now close door while you are inside and watch on the dash the alarm enable itself, once it stops flashing open the door, this will set off the alarm, lights flashing horn blowing. Now take the key and put it in the drivers door and turn the key to stop the alarm. Now start you vehicle. If you want you can take the glove box apart to get to the vehicle security module to remove it. Dont unplug it unless the vehicle is running (must be running due to back up on computer) unplug the module and you will never have another problem with the security again and it does not effect your powerlocks.
