With gas appliances and heaters I would turn the gas off. When you are there you are opening a closing doors and windows and creating air flow. When your home is locked up, gas could build up, especially if a pilot light went out. 2 or 3 days, no problem but anything longer than that, turn it off, or get a house sitter.

If it is a gas water heater put new batteries in it. They are usually D size.

no model told , not even makers name. but modern have a flame sensor ,bad. it needs service, call for service.

Check the pipes that go to your bathroom from the heater. Possible blockage can be found by how hot the pipes are.

check inlet filter if ok possible bad water solenoid

There could be an issue with the water level on an issue with the water sensor too or the wiring for the water heater.

1. Open the up the door or the cover over where the pilot light is accessed and also located at . The pilot light will be located under the gas valve and some water heaters just have an open gap instead where you can see the pilot lights burner is.
2. Using either a flashlight or a headlamp to find out where the burner i located inside. 2 small gas tubes will lead to it. You will want to watch it as you are working.
3. Turn the gas knob to "Pilot,"and then press and hold it down. This will begin to start the flow of gas so you can light the flame. Some water heaters do have a separate button for pilot mode, mostly it will be a colored red one which you will have to press and hold.
4. While still holding the gas down light that pilot. Some water heaters do have a red or black igniting button and some others will have to be lit manually with a lighter than is longer.
5. When the flames do ignite continue to hold the gas knob or button down for a full one minute. Then slowly release it and make sure that the light is still lit and is still on.
6. Turn the gas knob to On and then listen for the distinct "whump" or whooshing sound of the main burner igniting.
7. Replace the cover.

Question edited for clarity. A lot depends where the leak is? If it is from a fitting, you can replace the fitting or even try tightening it. This is an on demand water heater, often called an instantaneous hot water heater. If you are losing water from the delivery (faucet) side, the boiler should be alight. Wherever the leak is from, you must be able to see it, unless you are on a water meter and observing the loss there. I have a model yf-008 110 v 3000w tankless water heater it shows e4 what dose that mean

can be any reason so will need a multi meter to check and test--thermostat-- igniter --gas valve ----power--safety -high limit ---vent gas is dangerous to work around so if your incapable to work around gas /electrical units notify a repair company

I would switch to a decafe coffee.

Increase the setting, wait for the thermostat to cut out and check the resulting temperature.

It usually needs to be pushed straight down, or into the valve body, if it is on the side.

check for blocked drain hose or pump leak under unit

disconnect ignitor and check voltage from board if ok replace ignitor
