N.O. or N.C. contact diagram on side of switch, but you have to remove it to see them.. also a shorted diode or transformer or the large capacitor can take out the fuse in a heartbeat ground out the cap before working on unit.. when it hits it hurts and you could cut yourself when you pull your hand out of the microwave really fast when it pops !

What kind of sound is supposed to have a Microwave oven? On microwave ovens I've used, only sound is a warning sound notifying that time is over and it's not possible nor recommendable to turn this sound off.

Wild guess: Maybe it's making contact with some metalized paper or aluminium foil?

Usually, if there is a Time/Clock button on the panel, pushing it once blanks the display for timer input while pushing it twice makes the colon blink (the two dots) meaning it's expecting the time input. So, for 12:37 you would push Time-Time-1-2-3-7-Time.

Ray, There is an internal fuse.

Unplug your microwave and turn it around and remove the screws holding cover on and then remove the cover. Look for where the power cord goes into the back of the unit and follow the black wire from the cord to where it ends. It should stop an either a circuit board or a fuse holder. Make sure that you replace the fuse with the same amperage fuse as what you take out. You will find the amp rating stamped on one of the silver collars on each end of the fuse. Good luck!

microwave is not that good for your health anyway, you can repair it - unfortunately i do not think that this is cost effective, it will be cheaper buy second hand working model for $10 to $20 on gumtree, craighslist or even boot sale than repair that one. hope this will help you - do not forget to vote...
