My whirlpool oven turns itself on and off without me touching it have had this problem before and was told it was in demo mode but don't know how to turn it off

I am not sure this is your issue ... but from the Whirlpool web site .. to turn demo mode off: Possible Solutions

The control has been placed in demonstration mode

IMPORTANT: This feature is intended for use on the sales floor with 120 V power connection and permits the control features to be demonstrated without the oven turning on. If this feature is activated, the oven will not work.
1. Press SETTINGS/CLOCK until "DEMO MODE" is displayed.
2. The current setting will be displayed.
3. Press the "1" keypad to adjust the setting.
4. Press START or CANCEL to exit and display the time of day.

Reset power to the product:

There may be a problem with the User Interface/Keypad, or the associated wiring.
  • Power unit down by turning off the circuit breaker(s) for one (1) minute.
  • Power unit up by turning on the circuit breaker(s).
  • Monitor the oven for one (1) minute to ensure the error code does not display again.
  • Verify oven operation.

Samsung smh1816s has power, but nothing happens when you try to microwave anything

Did you have checked the magnetron? If this appliance turn on, it is, you said "has power", but not generate microwaves to "cook" any meat you want to cook. I have searched more information on Internet, but not got something about it. If you have some like electric diagram give me the link please or up it to 4shared for try to help you to the solution. I beg your pardon for my poor english. Is not my natal language.

Design Considerations
The basic function and operation of the microwave oven since its invention in the mid 1940's has not changed much at all. Essentially the only major advances in this end equipment that have transpired over the years have been improvements in the user experience. Microcontrollers have helped in this regard as they include more features such as Popcorn, Dinner Plate and Defrost modes. Another rather recent innovation is the ability to measure the steam in the cooking chamber which provides the microcontroller information on cooking time required. As the internal microwave frequency in the magnetron is typically around 2.45 GHz and microwaves are almost as ubiquitous as washing machines, other wireless technologies such as Bluetooth which operate in the same frequency much have the capability to do frequency hopping in case of interference. Along with the traditional 5 V analog and logic commodity devices used in this end equipment, Texas Instruments also provides feature-rich products that integrate relay drivers, zero-volt detection, brown-out detect feature, and 5 V linear regulation that allow for keeping BoM (bill of materials) costs within budget.
5 V Logic and Analog: Texas Instruments provides the largest portfolio in the commodity space that gives designers the flexibility to choose from any logic function needed. Whether it's an AND gate or a single-bit buffer that is needed on the board, TI has it. Likewise, TI offers a wide selection of standard linear devices for regulation (linear regulators), LEDs (LED drivers), signal conditioning (operational amplifiers), etc and are available in industrial temperature range.
Integration: Texas Instruments provides fully-integrated solutions such as the digital signal controllers (for digital motor control, PFC, and other system functions), and relay drivers that provide up to 8 channels, zero-volt detection, and 5 V linear regulation. Aside from the commonly-used 7-bit relay drivers (such as the ULN2003A Darlington arrays) TI also provides the 8-bit TPL9201 or TPL9202 to drive LEDs on the display and triacs that may be used to operate the turntable. These devices also have integrated features that allow for the detection of the zero-volt crossing of the secondary side of the power transformer. Information is fed back to the microcontroller that lets it know when to switch ON/OFF the relays for better long-term reliability of the relays themselves. A brown-out detect feature that provides an early notification in case of a decrease in power supply voltage is available on the TPL9202. These devices also carry an on-chip 5 V linear regulator to power 5 V logic or microcontrollers that may reside on the board.

The oven has no power. The outlet is hot. The unit will power up intermittently, but as soon as you try to turn it on it loses all power.

This is a safety feature of the microwave. Unplug it and leave the door open for about 10 minutes and it should work again with no problems.
P.S. My kids overheat mine all the time making pop corn.

I have never used the power feature and now I need to and cant find manual. How does the power feature work. I need to operate the microwave on medium power for one minute.

1 Use the number buttons to set a cooking
time. You can set a time from one second to
99 minutes, 99 seconds. To set a time over
one minute, enter the seconds too. For
example, to set 20 minutes, enter 2, 0, 0, 0 .
2 If you want to set the power level to
something other than High, press the Power
Level button, then use the number buttons
to enter a power level.
Power Levels:
Level Cooking PL
1Warm10
2Low20
3 Defrost 30
4Medium Low40
5Medium50
6 Simmer 60
7 Medium High 70
8 Reheat 80
9 Saute 90
10 High Hi

Hope that helps.

Microwave burns popcorn. what part is defective?

If the microwave functions normally while cooking everything else, but is only burning popcorn, there is no component problem that will cause this. You cannot adjust or replace any internal component to make it not burn popcorn. All power levels and program options are contolled by the consumer at the control panel. Refer to your owner;s manual for their recommendations.

If the oven is equipped with a popcorn feature button, it is programmed for a recommended power level and time. This is an ESTIMATED program feature. The manufacturers of both the oven and the popcorn will also give directions that tell you to turn the oven off when the popping slows to about a pop every 2 seconds. Failure to do so can result in burning.

If the microwave does not come with a popcorn feature button, the manufacturers of the popcorn have directions on the outside of the box that tell you what POWER LEVEL and TIME to set the oven on for the desired result. Again, the you still have to listen as the bag pops to ensure it does not burn.

In addition, on some microwave ovens, there is a feature that allows you to select the SIZE of the popcorn bag. Some popcorn manufacturers have smaller snack size bags that don't take as long to pop. You have to select the appropriate size to get the correct program option.

In any case, you never are to place popcorn in a microwave oven and walk away from it. All these program features are ESTIMATIONS based on manufacturers testing and recommendations for the best results. All microwave ovens are different and operate at different power levels. Your best judge is to listen as it pops.

I hope this helps you.

Instruction Manual for Sharp Microwave Oven

I can explain that. You enter the power level you want from 0 to high(10) the number corresponds to a percentage of time the cook cycle is ON. 5 being 50%, for each minute of cook time programmed the magnatron will be on 30 seconds and off 30 seconds. You can program anything from 10% to 90% in place of the high or "always on" setting. Eric
