Check the Internet is live by logging on to the magicjack website.

Then plug a telephone into the magicjack device.

Then plug the magicjack device in to the USB port. It should then log on to the internet and download any required software.

If you have the internet, but magicjack was not able to get through contact Customer support through the website.

In order to receive calls, you must turn Notifications on for your magicJack APP.

  1. On your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch, go to Settings, Notifications, and select magicJack APP
  2. Make sure that Alert Style is set to Notifications and Sounds are turned on
You can also shut down the magicJack APP by "double-clicking" the "Home" button on your device, tapping and holding down the magicJack APP icon, and then tapping the "X" icon in the top right corner of the magicJack APP icon.
Once the magicJack APP has been shut down, you can re-launch it by tapping the icon.

You cannot use the magicjack in this way. The magicjack is used to enable the telephone to be used instead of the computer.

Plug in the magic jack device when the internet connection is working and it should download the software to make it work.

This maybe due to "echo" n long distance calls.

magicJack works hard to ensure a clear connection.

If you experience an "echo" when using a magicJack on a computer:

  1. Go to "Menu" on the top right-hand corner on your magicJack softphone
  2. Click "Headset/Volume Control..."
  3. Lower the volume for both "Speaker" and "Microphone" to about 1/3 (one-third) of the maximum levels.
If that does not work:
  • Try plugging your magicJack into a different USB port.
If that does not work:
  • Unplug your magicJack, restart your computer, and plug your magicJack back in.
If that does not work:
  1. Unplug your magicJack, turn your modem and router ( if you have one) off and wait 3 minutes.
  2. Turn your modem and router back on and plug your magicJack back in.
If you experience an "echo" when using a magicJack connected to modem or router:
  1. Lower the volume on your telephone.
  2. Unplug your magicJack from the power source, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back.
If that does not work:
  1. Unplug your magicJack, turn your modem and router ( if you have one) off and wait 3 minutes.
  2. Turn your modem and router back on and plug your magicJack back in.

The website you are trying to logon to is blocking access or you have installed anti-virus software. If your magicJack reads "Error 20", please make sure that you have allowed exceptions on your Firewall/Antivirus for magicJack. For fixes go to this page
