I installed a airtemp condenser last year for a customer and this year he has no cooling I have 27 volts at 2 wire for contactor but when connected to contactor don't have voltage and wont close

the power being furnished by transformer is not enough. Connect contactor and go inside air handler and measure the output of the 24 volt xfme. If it is good start looking for broken wire. If there is a spare wire move over to it.

I have an older a/c

My thought is that your situation is humidity related. If anything were wrong with the A/C process, the unit would stop cooling....Remember, that the process of air conditioning (cooling) removes some moisture from the air...So it is unlikely you have an issue......

Eddfx24fa2 model # on furnace of central air unit

It is a two ton system. and without doing a heat load Calculation and not knowing the heat load It would not be anything but a guess. But if everything is working properly and the system is clean and with good duct work, than it should be big enough for the size of your house.
