Wont cool! We just moved in this home which has the wine cooler; it wont cool and I unplugged it for 2 hours 2 times. It would start the cooling process and would go from 84 to 82 and after 10 minutes or so, I suppose the cool air stopped coming. Any easy solutions (dumb question). The previous owners had it fixed to the cabinets and it will be a bear to break it up and take it out. [email protected]

sounds like a dirty condenser the compressor will overheat and not turn back on until cooled off

Possible that the error is in the main program controller unit of the coolerr. It might be hanging up due to some errors in the voltage or the sensors.
make sure the connections are tight , check the thermostat settings, reduce to lower level, allow the unit to cool off , unplug for few hours and check again. if not check your program controller unit.

the reason you should not lay a fridge/freezer on its side is that you will get air bubbles in the cooling pipes,which you may not be able to get rid of when you turn it back upright.I have moved loads of f/f, in the past and have had no problems,as long as you give the unit at least 24 hours to right itself.....and keep the door(s) closed while it is "resting"

No switch. Fan motor going bad and must be replaced.

First check the grating over the fan in the back. If it is covered with dust, there won't be enough air flow and the unit won't cool. Clean the dust off and see if it cools back down. It may take a long time to cool down if it is full of wine, so I recommend taking the wine out to test if it works.

Sounds like the compressor starting relay. This should be available from from most appliance parts retailers that carry refrigeration parts. It is probably a plug-in relay which is easy to replace. PULL THE PLUG UNTIL YOU GET IT! Constant cycling on the thermal protector will damage the unit.

I had the same problem. I fixed the problem by replacing the main cooling fan that is mounted over the electrothermal cooling unit.. Fan can be ordered from RepairClinic.com.

Few things to check here. If the compressor is not running then the problem may be a bad thermostat or the compressor start device (ptc starter). Most common would be the thermostat on wine coolers. Also need to check if the fan is running. If everything is running then you have a sealed system problem. If the fan is the only thing that is not running that will cause a no cool situation.
