I believe a firmware update can fix this issue. However to be sure I would need your entire model number, including the numbers after the slash. You can put that entire model number into Philips support website, http://www.usa.philips.com/#/headernav/consumer/

Once you get to your TV's support page, you can look on the right hand side and find the firmware information. First I suggest you read the Read Me file to familiarize yourself with the update process and what issues it fixes. Then you can download the firmware to your computer so you can upload it to a USB drive to perform the update.

Hope that helps!

It did not solve my problem. Nothing happened. I do not even know if the update occurred on the tv, because nothing changed. The tv never turned off, nothing flickered. I did not hear anything, so all I can say is that it did not fix my problem. Note: unable to get to the menu to check it manually, bc the screen is still black

Why a black screen on xps l701x w7 i7 1.73

Black screen - no flashing white cursor in the upper left corner - no picture at all, i.e. the initial Dell start-up screen doesn't show up either:
- LCD is dead or isn't getting a signal - not an easy fix; or
- the LCD isn't being sent a signal - holding down the function [Fn] key and press display Function key to toggle through its settings (LCD panel only, Rear VGA output only, both LCD and VGA output)

Black screen - flashing white cursor in the upper left corner - the screen goes black after the windows loading screens come up but before the windows login screen comes up - it is probably a windows video driver problem. Try starting in Windows Safe Mode with VGA. Press [F8] after the Dell startup screen disappears to access the windows startup menu

Philips 47PFL5609D/30 White screen displays on 3/4 of screen

It sounds that the connection between t'Con board to panel have some problems; loose contact etc. Check it. Re-seat them once, and check. If you wish to get more details about faults to Philips PFL series flat panel TVs, check this link.

Sounds to me that the menu is in convergence adjustment mode. Try the menu key on the remote and follow the prompts.
