Yes it´s possible to downgrade your "Operating System". You just have to download your old WM2003 Version from the Toshiba Homepage ( http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com). Then look on "Support & Downloads" there you find the Category "Download driver".

Cannot install MGI PhotoSuite4 on a computer running Windows 7 OS

The PhotoSuite 4 program is very old and won't work under Windows 7. http://sonic.net/mnitepub/pccafe/reviews/photosuite4/photosuite4.html says that the version 4 Platinum edition ran under Win95-Win2000 versions of the Windows OS. Thus even the compatibility mode probably won't help under Windows 7 32-bit. You can try it though by right clicking on the installer and then selecting Properties. In the Compatibility Mode tab, select Always Run this program in the compatibility mode and an older version of Windows. Then right click again and choose Run as Administrator. (You may have to do this again on the program itself.) Since Win7 64-bit requires signed drivers or programs, it is not as likely to work. (Check your version of Windows 7 by clicking Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If the title of your OS ends with x64, you have the 64-bit OS. Otherwise, you have the 32-bit OS.)

If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate (or upgrade to one of those versions), you can run a virtual version of XP for free. Download and install Microsoft's Virtual PC and then XP mode (in order). This works best if your CPU supports virtualization and you enable the feature in your computer's BIOS. (There are work-arounds for computers without virtualization. See the MS support pages.) Install your PhotoSuite inside the virtual XP program in that case. This old software may run in that case. (However, I've had some Win2K software that ran under XP with the compatibility mode but didn't run under the virtual XP. Note: virtual computers do have some additional limitations. They do not talk to the host hard drive and other hardware directly. (You can install a printer on the host machine or the virtual machine but not both.) You'll need to save files on external media (flash drive, optical disc or other hard drive) to transfer them between the machines).

Another option is to run an older version of Windows on another computer, as a dual boot computer or with Virtual PC (or another virtual computer package - VMWare or Parallels). In that case, you need a licensed version of the older Windows OS. Again install the program while running the older OS.

The final option is to upgrade to a Windows 7 compatible Photo editor and organizer. (Even the Microsoft Windows Live Photo Gallery has some of the features of Photosuite SE.)

I hope this helps.

Driver for Pretec DC-300 Digital Camera for Windows Vista

Try this:

Uninstall the driver (if installed). Next, put in the driver CD and browse to the setup.exe file. Right click and select properties. In the box that opens, select compatibilty tab and select the box next to "runthis program in compatibilty mode for" and select XP SP2. and install the program

Should that not work, uninstall and retry the above process, but select Windows 98 or 2000 this time..Hopefully that will work.

If it still does not work, then unfortunately, you will either have to downgrade to XP (I believe the driver works for XP) or buy a new camera altogether..

Hi i've just upgraded my Compaq nx6110 to Windows 7 from Windows XP and my audio isn't working. I've tried installing all the codecs and drivers i could find for my multimedia audio controller...

Depends on the usage you give it. If you don't use very heavy and CPU dependent programs and don't want to spend your money you should downgrade back to XP.
But if you feel like you need more power for the software you use and can spare a few bucks you should definitely invest in a new PC. That PC is quite old and will start limiting you a lot if you need it on a regular basis.

You may not be successful, ever. Newer hardware cannot be run by outdated Operating System. Restore to Vista, then upgrade to 7 and everything will work.
The newer hardware has features that had not been thought about with XP.

The new hardware should run faster and better, but not with old OS.

Software incompatibility on my acer aspire6930-6455

Well, we wont know until you try. In my opinion, your 32/64 bit issues will be solved, but you would still have the normal vista/xp compatibility issues.

But that is to be expected, like when we all upgraded from win98 to XP.

So - I would recommend downgrading to Vista 32 bit, or getting the 64bit software version of the programs you want to use.

Good Luck, and let me know what you did, and how it turned out! :)

you need to find the firmware you had before the update and downgrade it again, you can perform the downgrade using a cd with firmware on it, make sure you have a look on the sony website for instructions on performing a manual upgrade (should be the same process as downgrade)

About installed software..

I think that “Microsoft pocket pc 1996 - 2003 os” called now “Windows Mobile 2003”. To upgrade your PDA to 2003SE please go to TOSHIBA Site http://www.toshiba-europe.com/. Than go to Computer systems. Under “Support &Downloads” there is option Download Drivers. Please chose your PDA and there are all useful Drivers for “Windows Mobile 2003 SE”. In every zip File there is “Upgrade Guide”. Read it. It can help you to make update without problems.

INTERNET EXPLORER

I have the same PDA but unfortunately I am not the expert. In my opinion it is not possible to install IE separately. It is not known to me that there is any possibility to download IE for PDA as an individual program. If you have already removed all programs why don’t reinstall the OS and it should work properly again. Did you already install Windows Mobile 2003 SE? Please go to www.microsoft.com and download iExplorer! Try to install it!

Windows Mobile 2003 SE Kernel ROM update error

I have already updated my e800 with Windows Mobile 2003 SE. I have had just a small communication problem between the notebook and PDA but there was no problem with update installation itself. If no one can help you try to contact hotline or service partner in your country. I hope that they can give you a proper answer why this error occurs.
