could be lose ribbon in the back of tv or loads of dust tryboth but make sure tvis off around 10 mins before you open back cover try google how to fix and your problem make model then youtube should find a link from there hope it helps

sound go out on tv have to turn it off then back on to get the sound back

Take it aparts clean the part with a Q tip.See if the rubber inter film warn out,if it is u out of luck.

The Philips 32PFL5522D does support firmware upgrades.

Only the digital board can be updated by the user. This is done by downloading the firmware on to a memory card (CF) and inserting into a PCMCIA adaptor. This is then inserted into the CI slot at the back of the TV.

The main TV would have to be updated by a Philips service agent using a COMPAIR device.

However, I don't think the problem you describe is to do with firmware.

You could try altering the following settings:

• Contrast - 65
• Sharpness - 2
• Contrast Plus - OFF
• NR - ON
• Colour - approx 50

If this doesn't help, then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty lead between the LCD panel and driver board. This is a common problem with this model, but should not be an expensive repair.

Can you tell me how to adjust the picture size on the above tv? I switched it off one evening and when i switched it on again I was getting a broad black line at the top and bottom. When I put on the teletex I can see the tv picture down the right hand side of the screen. I have been through all the buttons on the remote control but am unable to fix this.
