T23 BIOS error code #05

Booting up my old IBM T23 Thinkpad, all of a sudden, I started getting the
following error message: "Resource Conflict - Allocation error static node #
05" and from what I've researched, I think it might just be the CMOS battery, anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks for the suggestion. I was going to try that but removing the battery alone seens to be a major task the was it's installed. The wires run under the housing so the whole laptop housing has to be taken apart. I Googled the error and most hits referred to a bad CMOS battery. The PC is at least 7 or 8 years old so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. I just ordered a new CMOS battery off of Ebay for a whole $3.50 so I figure that's worth a try. Of course, looking at the way this thing is slapped together (housing and all which has to be removed to get to the battery plugin), I would not be surprised if I end up having to take it to a shop just to have the battery swapped out. I'll post the results when I replace the battery. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Are you getting a date & time error ?. you could always try just resetting the bios.... remove the bios battery AND the battery itself for about five minutes or so. install it all again and boot up.

My thinkpad g40 has the following on my screen "resource conflict pci net controller in slot 01 bus :02,device:02,function:00 " how do i correct this?

Dear Friend,

This type of message is commonly associated with wireless or PCI card failures. I strongly suggest you to either update your BIOS (if you can) or disable this devises.

Another way to isolate the problem is to get an external wireless card or PCI network card.

My T23 IBM enters splash screen, but will not enter the bios page.

While the "To interrupt normal startup, press the blue Access IBM button" message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F1 key. The BIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed.

IBM Thinkpad will not hold date & time.

Replace the backup battery and run BIOS Setup Utility to reset the time and date. This will resolve the issue.

Bsod on a ibm thinkpad t30 xp sp3

Normally this indicates some kind of resource conflict between device. Could be you just updated drivers for a device, or a new device was installed/used.
From the device manager you should be able to find out which devices have a resource conflict.
Other details on the driver irql not less or equal error might help you as well.

Laptop problem

It may be a sign that your hard drive has failed. Over 85% of the time that is the case. Also make sure in the bios setting you have the hard drive in the boot order. If you didn't go into the bios then that would not be the problem.

Thanks
