When I accidently set of the alarm on my 97 Jetta, I had to lock and then unlock the drivers side door(passenger side works too). This shuts off the alarm.

don't know if you can but you can try resetting everything. you disconnect your battery for 10 mins (positive post on battery) then reconnect it then start your car.
Simplest way is to remove the alarm. If it's too much of a hassle, have the wires that lead from the ignition to the alarm control unit disconnected. Otherwise, keep a screwdriver handy and jump the terminals on the solenoid when you need to start it up.
1 first take the right tire off 2 then lift the car 3 then get a 15mm socket and loosen the blots of the bracket 4 then open the hood and undo the power steering and take off the top bot of the alternator 5 then take off the bottom blots and take off the bracket 6 then move the alternator so you can disconnect the wiring i think you need a 10mm for that maybe smaller 7 then pull it out(when i did it to mine it was hard to pull it out) 8 then to put it back just the same way but backwards
mine broke too if you need more help email me ozark99@hotmail .com
Due to the sensitive nature of the cars computer systems, it is best left to a professional, But basically if you're set on doing it yourself, just look for the brainbox of it. It is usually under the steering column area and will look quite out of place (assuming it's an aftermarket alarm), as it will have a multitude of wires of various colors coming out in all directions. Just disconnect the harnesses from the brain and you should be good. If it has two wires labeled something like "Starter-key side" and "Starter- Motor side" you will need to join these together or your car will not start anymore.
Best Regards.
