I would say the best thing to do would remove the screws/bolts/hardware
plug the hole with whatever you took out. and buy a new seat with a higher back.
you may need to add those u shaped deck cleats but thats not a big deal

I would wait for summer, and then block it in place with wooden props internally to force the warm plastic into the correct form. Then see how that works.

My Volvo C70 - 2002- has power seats, the drivers seat is all the way forward, and will not return or move in any way.

There is a plastic piece that holds the return spring for the switch on the seat back release. When this piece breaks, the switch can't indicate that the release is back in the lock position. You will have to take part of the seat apart to replace this piece. There could be something else causing this problem, but this is the most common.

How do I remove the third row seats from a 2008 Honda Odyssey?I want to pull both of them out temporarily so I can access BOTH the full floor and the deep well the seats normally fold into. There are three...

You haved to remove the bolts you are looking at and then fold the seat down remove teh other piece of plastic and remove those bolts. On the left and right side there are also a piect of plastic that covers the pivot bolts on the sides of the seats. These have to be removed also to access the bolts under them. This will allow you to remove the seat. POINTS TO REMEMBER. The Plastic pieces are not ment to be removed and will probably break upon removal. They are not cheep to replace. Also the bolts are set to a certain torque value to insure the passangers dont end up in the front in case of a accident. Also the seats have a very storng spring built into the pivot points to assist in raising and lowering the seat. Not easy to manually pull out to reinstall. Good Luck.

Cannot take off seats of BMW Z3

There are 4 bolts holding all car seats if you can get at least 2 off than you should be alright as long as you can squees a hacksaw or dremel to be able to cut along the seat rail that will remove the seat so you have access to the other 2.

Need to find a solution to the swayed back of the seat. My 9mon old is straining to sit up straighter.

there is a piece u can buy called a hard back insert from baby jogger which firms up the back. essentially a plastic piece that looks a lot like corrugated cardboard. it is tapered and slides into the velcroed pocket in seat back.

Hood release broken

hi,
you might want to contact a local ford dealer mechanic and ask them if they know a trick before you try and locate that busted cable. Your going to have to do some looking/studying through the grille or under the front of the car, If the car has to come up off the ground I suggest using car ramps, theyre safer than jacking the car up and blocking it If you have to jack the car up blocking the rear wheels is a must and setting the parking brake, while the vehicle is in the air I strongly suggest using a secondary failsafe such as blocks of wood or large pieces of firewood to make absolutely sure the car does not move. Now looking up under the front fascia of the car you will probably encounter a large piece of plastic, it has to come off so you can see above it and its usually held in place by plastic screws or snaps, they either just unscrew or pop out, now with the plastic out of the way you have to study where the black plastic aircraft cable goes into the hood latch( busted latch release cable) and bypass it by either pulling the inner cable inside with needle nose pliers where it broke off, or pulling the metal area where the latch release cable was attatched with needle nose pliers. untill you get a replacement you can temporarily use some bailing wire to hook where the busted cable went and bring it through the grille with a loop.

good luck

Third row seats

A little plastic bumper, located on a metal tab on the inside of the bottom seat cushions breaks off. It is supposed to hit the seat back release and allow the back to fold down when you push the bottom cusion in all the way. I finally just bent the metal tab up so it would hit the release and that fixed it. (Look for the broken palstic pieces under the seat cusion area as an indication) The dealer replaced the plastic part several times... a waste of time.
