Hi, yesterday my hitachi external hard drive is fallen to the floor and after that it is doesn't work. but the lights are working. i want know can i take my old data from hard disk and can it repair????????? if it can repair how i repair my hitachi external hard drive ????

Dropping hard drives is a sure way of damaging the drive. There is no way us mortals can repair a damaged hard drive that has been dropped.

There are companies that can remove the diskplatters from the damaged hard drive and with special equipment may beable to recover your data, but it will cost you an arm and a leg for theirservices. The reason for this high cost, they dismantle and remove the plattersin the hard drive in a clean room environment and set up the platters up injig/drive to retrieve/copy the data.
