Either the transmision is worn or stuck out or the motor is.

Disconnect the belt from the transmission and try turning the motor, then the transmission. If it is the transmission check to make sure a small sock or something else isnt jammed in the drum under the agitator.

Transmission is shift really hard

Check the color of the transmission fluid, dark colored is bad. Overheating could cause the transmission fluid to go bad. Most transmission fluids are red and semi transparent. If the fluid is bad change the fluid, this can fix hard shifts and shudder.

It takes several try to run my suzuki van f6a automatic transmission and after running in the idle speed the engine is vibrating for several minutes before running normal. Many thanks

you might have a broken motor mount or ****** mount,as for the overheating you might need a new thermostat or water pump, but check your antifreeze first to make sure its strong enough for this time of year

Seized up motor, overheating

Does the handwheel turn freely. If hard to turn then I suspect the main bearings need to be freed up and relubricated. A sewing machine has a rotating shaft something like an engine crankshaft with a front and rear bearing to hold it in position. Various other "cranks" attach to this rotating shaft. From the various problem reports I've seen and from having my own machine freeze up, it appears this Viking model family is prone to this problem after some number of years of use. The motor overheating is simply the side effect of the problem.

Air compressor starts and then shuts off

Do you mean it runs for 1 or 2 seconds and stops or it runs for minutes and stops? If it never really starts (runs for a second or less) then it is probably a capacitor start motor and the capacity has gone bad.

If it runs for minutes or more and then stops and subsequently restarts when it has cooled then the thermal overload switch is turning it off when the motor overheats. If the unit is not all that old, hasn't been run particularly hard and you have this problem every time you turn it on when it is just pumping up, (which is to say, there is no good reason for the motor to be overheated) then the thermal overheat switch is probably defective.

If the compressor is being run hard when this happens, then the unit is being overheated from heavier use than for which it was designed. If the interior of the compressor motor has a coating of saw dust or dust, it acts like an insulator and results in the motor heating more quickly than it should under normal circumstances. Also, if it is being used in a hot environment it will likewise have trouble cooling.

So, if it really doesn't run at all, it is probably the motor starting capacitor. If it happens when the compressor isn't really hot, then the thermal over-temperature switch is probably defective. If it gets genuinely hot, but without being run hard, then the motor might need to be cleaned because it is not cooling properly. If it happens when it is hot and it is hot because it has been run hard, then either don't run it as hard, cool it better or get a bigger compressor. If it is clean inside, not being run hard but still overheats, then I would look at a malfunction in the compressor portion of the unit having more friction than it should (bearings lubricated?) thus requiring more horsepower to run the compressor than the motor is designed to generate and results in overheating. Low voltage can also do the same.

Maytag mav7504eww- motor overheating

A leaking boot seal and corroded shaft bearing is my best guess. The main transmission bearing being corroded puts stress on the motor.

454 overheating in motorhome. 85 Winnebago. 3000 miles on motor. I put a flex fan on it and changed the thermostat from 210 to 180. Not as bad but still overheating.

flush the radiator, also check to see if a lot of the cooling fins are bent over on the front or back of the radiator blocking any of the air flow also if the motor is working to hard from any number of things such as a hanging up brake, low tire or ill shifting transmission can also cause this and does your motor home still have the fan shroud if not definitely put one on it,also do a pressure check on the cooling system if it is leaking even slightly when you are driving it will cause the same problem,a pressure test will reveal a leak (if it has one) even if you can see any obvious signs of one
I hope this helps,good luck
