Well, I guess this will be my first cry in this blog. After trying to activate the G P R S, it hang (or hung?) and stopped working, as it was trying to browse a web address. The next event is where the fatal part comes in. So after hang for almost a minute, I decided to turn the power off. However, it did not want to be turned off So I played it rough. I took the battery out, therefore forcing an abnormal shutdown. I restarted and turned it on. But it only got to the initial entry screen. And it was in the LOCKED status. I tried to unlock it with the lock-unlock-physical-key on the side, but still it did nothing.

Yes chiming clocks always have a switch to turn them off. Often termed a 'night shut off'.

Might be a loose RAM (memory stick). Try removing it and then connect it again properly and see if it solves the Problem.
