Hi, after changing the lamp in my sony kds-55a2000 TV I unfortunately brook the little tap on the inside lid/cover. Does this matter? I still get the three red blinking on the stand-by indication. Best regard Ola

Try to mend this cover. It does matter. The tap on the cover activates a switch which is in series with the lamp circuitry.

    Last option is locate the switch & short the two wires. It will be a permanent solution. The switch is for the safety so as to not get your fingers burnt while the cover is open when the TV is ON. So, if you are shorting the switch be careful.

Hi. Not shore of this model but could be a bulb replacement is needed, Or one of the filter covers may not be making contact.

The red light is indicative of error rather than working ( green ) or standby ( orange ).

I have a sony kds 55A2000 and my lamp went out so i replaced it. and it startes up fan goes on and off . and tv shuts down light still blinks red? My optical block is getting a light green yellow tint but...
Lamp Fan should not cut off and on it should run at all times when TV is Turned on.Lamp Fan is designed to run when set is turned on to Keep Lamp Cool otherwise Lamp will burn up.
Yes Bad optical unit block could also cause set to shut down.But most of them will Play but with Dots,Green yellow tinit or Big blue Spots

I have a sony 55"
Hi,
3 times red standby light flashing indicates that lamp cover (first thing that you removed from tv to replace lamp) is not fixed properly on tv, make sure lamp cover is attached correctly with tv to solve this issue.
3 times blinking is not problem of fan or anything else, it is related to lamp cover that engages safety micro switch inside to turn On tv.

I JUST REPLACE MY LAMP IN MY SONY KDS-55A2000 HOW DO I RESET THE LAMP HOURS..TV IS STILL READING PROJECTION LAMP NEARING LIFE END
you need to go into the TV's menu and select replace projection lamp menu and follow the on screen instructions to verify and reset the lamp timer, (its in your instruction manual , in detail) , i am awaiting a new phillips bulb for mine, as i always use the original enclosure, no need for extra plastic, and its easy to complete the swap, and reset hours via TV menu

How do you replace the lamp in the sony kds50A2020
Hi,
Lamp replacement is easy in KDS-50A2020 and written in user manual, check page-52 for details.
Open lamp cover on lower right side of TV, pull out old lamp and slide new lamp, put lamp cover back and turn on TV.
Click Sony Support if you need to download user manual copy.

No video no sound red standby light continous blinking once per second
Red Lamp light might be blinking in your TV, that means TV needs new lamp as existing lamp inside TV is broken or dear.
Please replace lamp in your Sony KDS-55A2000 TV and lamp replacement procedure is written in user manual.
